Victorinox scissors in Leatherman Charge
on: May 23, 2021, 09:03:30 AM
This mod has been made elsewhere but I've added a twist to make it (in my opinion) more functional. The problem is: the Victorinox scissors are easily adapted for the wave/Charge (enlarging the pivot hole and shaping the rest and the locking surface are all that's needed) but there isn't enough material to keep the liner lock disengaged during the opening/closing. One has to depress the liner lock in the middle of the operation to go past ~90° in either direction. In order to avoid this disagreement, I've added a reshaped bronze washer. I hope that the pictures are self-explanatory.

A few pictures of the opening action and a view of the finished product with a few added classic mods (Rebar awl and Metro's scalpel holder).

Nice job. I had the Victorinox scissors in my charge but gave up due to the issue you've noted.

Actually these weren't my first choice. I bought a well used Wingman for its scissors, only to find that they have to go in a left hand slot (which I should have known all along if I had taken just a minute to think it through ). I didn't want to give up either the saw or the file so I chose to adapt Vic scissors, which can be made to work on either side. Once again a SAK saved the day  :D.
