Just tried the magnets idea and, at least for me, it didn't seem to help a lot...if any.

Personally this isn't a big enough problem that I'm not going to carry my Bond but it is something I think should be fixed going forward.  I still think the big access cut-out for the oversized nail-nick should be gotten rid of.  It would remove the chance of pushing open the blade by mistake and make the plier that bit more comfortable to use.  Either use a MUCH smaller cut-out (like the PST) or move the nail-nick to the other side of the blade.

I'm going to clarify my earlier statement.  For me, with the small magnets I used, they're not strong enough to pull the blade back down if it gets accidentally pushed out of place.  Also will definitely not stop you accidentally pushing it out of position to start with.  They do however stop the blade from flopping open under it's own weight...which is someone I suppose.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

:iagree:
Those cut-outs are massive and the Rebar has two cut-outs. I have not seen anyone mention that they like the cut-outs. Sure, they allow the blades to be pinched open even with gloves, but has anyone ever done that?

Yes, I've done that.  However, I would be fine with the Rebar having the larger cut-outs and going back to the smaller cut-outs on the Bond with nail nicks ala PST.

But if you have another tool open, you won't have both handles open like that.
Well, if you have to switch between tools, it could happen... I would imagine the problem is pretty much when you put it down open and pick it back up
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Checked and, oddly enough, no.  Feels counterintuitive but if anything it's marginally better.  A little more friction being put on the pivot from somewhere I think.
Thanks for checking

I really cannot believe how rude Diezelle is in the comment section of that video.  He keeps saying the knife thing isn't an issue, but yet felt compelled to "fix" the non-issue with magnets.  He also personally mocks YouTubers like maxlvledc for no reason.  It's really off-putting, and I don't think I'll be watching his videos (and giving him ad revenue) any more.

I was excited to see a new Leatherman, but this is just not for me, even without the blade issue. The fix in that video seems like a good idea even though it could have been just a minute long to make that point!   For $10.00 more one could get a Rebar which I think is a better tool. This has no locking blades, is a bit too small for my taste, and I do not like the screws they use to adjust the pivots. Like the Rebar, the heads need a special tool to easily adjust them and they could have easily made them with standard torx one. I am not a fan of the original PST which this seems to be an update of, so I will wait until the next new tool they come up  with!
