Climber vs Super Tinker Weight
on: August 13, 2021, 08:26:21 PM
It may just be me but I can tell the difference in weight between my Climber and Super Tinker.  Victorinox lists the weight of the Climber at 2.9 oz an the Super Tinker at 3 oz which is really nothing so maybe it is the Princess and the Pea thing with me but I was wondering if anybody else notices this.  I like to carry the Climber more because of the Corkscrew anyway so it is not a determining factor in which one I carry.

I can tell the difference too  ;)
Not only between the Climber and Super Tinker, but between corkscrew sak's VS same models with phillips. Maybe it has something to do with the phillips narrower and weight being concentrated in a solid piece of steel and the corkscrew is a bit larger and the weight is more distributed in relation to the body of the SAK. I guess it's not so much the absolute weight, but more the relative weight placement on the the sak.
I'm always torn between the two, but tend to carry the Climber more.

My guess is that it's not the 1/10 oz you're noticing. i think you notice how the corkscrew feels when you carry it versus the phlillips.

in any case, which of the two tools do you like the most?
