There is still a role for the humble cap-lifter in the world.   :tu:

Used pliers to open nut on gate, i was -ble to open nut with these pliers pretty easily. Gotta admit i was bit sceptical bout it but it worked pretty good.

I, too, find these little pliers a bit more capable than they are given credit for. I did have a hose coupling to tighten this morning--the S'champ pliers were too small to grasp it. So I just used my teeth.   ;)

Day 26 of 60:

Power outage!

Why a power outage requires lighting up a camp stove, I'm not quite sure. Still, when my survival instincts kicked in, I reached for a camping stove and a packet of Spam.

The S'champ's main blade got used to whittle some scraps of wood to get my charcoal lighted up....

The main blade worked like a charm on this dry pine. The shavings just flew off the stick.

Here's my set up, backpacking grill perched on a Firebox Nano:

Stoked with five (5) charcoal briquets and the aforementioned wood shavings:

My prepped Spam. This has been dusted with Cajun Seasoning. I'm a professional* don't try this at home.

Grilled up beautifully. I thought the fire might be too cool, but it worked very well.

Almost feels like the Nano was designed to grill Spam.   :dunno:

Once cooked, the Spam was halved and put on some sourdough bread I made last night. On the gas grill. Which was available to use for lunch today. But this was a crisis. So the camping stove had to be used.....

I hope your power is back, Nix. Though you look like you're having so much fun without it.   :dunno:

How would you like me to label my posts for tracking? How about "Day # of 30 (Stacked)"?

Crikey Barry ...

They do Turkey Spam? Now that I hadn't twigged ...

I admit here and now I could go either way on Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spammety Spam but I do have some in the cupboard which could warrant a Science Experiment*

As you say Nix "When you have Spam, the world is your oyster Spam" ... Wise words indeed

Day 27

No much happening here today. Used the can opener on some veggies and the cap lifter to pop open a jar of venison. Chili for supper.
