I want a Hawk!

Ok, I've decided I NEED to get a hawk

Trouble is, I don't know anything about them.

I like the Cold Steel Trail Hawk a lot. Any other's like it that I should consider? I'd prefer to stay somewhat close to the price of the Trail hawk.

I have 3 of his hawks and 1 knife. I love his stuff, and waite until you try to pay him. He actually sends an invoice with the tool! Very old school, but very good!!

Those look great. I wouldn't recommend the CS trail hawk. It's a OK bit of kit but I have never found it to be a good working axe. It seems to be aimed at the fighting and throwing end of the spectrum, any good axe (hawk or otherwise) should be able to do more than that.

Been there done it. People may love him but like us all he has his flaws. Unfortunatly his is one that I take very seriously. I have been active Duty Recon Marine, and have several friends on many teams from Seals, Rangers, Green Berets,Para Jumpers. and some lost lives while doing so, so I take his marketing as disgusting.

This got me curious so I read this thread on bladeforums http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=453852. I did not know any of this, it too bad. Still want one of his knives, Ill just forgo the autograph.

I actually need to apologise for kinda hijacking a thread and giving an opinion of someone. I am very sorry for spewing personal feelings into a forum that I take great joy participating in.Sometimes we all allow personal feelings tward someone get in the way of answering questions about products or the tools we use and should not get into companies politics or criminal behavior.

I had an Emerson Hawk , hell of a weapon , but not great in the utility department . Sheath was crap , I had to get a River City Kydex sheath made for it . Hawks are fun , but spike pol hawks aren't all that practical .
