Dear Leatherman & Victorinox, I ❤ your multitools. Tim may have created these; the Swiss made them better.
Awls are a terrific awlsome solution to many tasks, even those that open doors.
10° F this morning. Driver's door was frozen. Was still dark then. Used fist to thump around the door's seam, then tried to open the door again. It opened partially, then ... SNAP!
The nylon grabber broke clean across. Nearly the same on the passenger side, save only half broke - but got inside to open driver's door.
Got home. Looked over a previously broken door handle, devising a way to fix it using long thin bolts. Was too late to get to a hardware store though.
Had an idea, but needed to get the door handle out a bit. Was not enough room for a bite on the pliers. Bottle Opener/Screwdriver took some work to get under the handle backing that remained.
Decided I needed a slot in there for the next few days, until the replacement door handles arrive. The file did not have enough bite. Did not want to use the saw with near-frozen fingers, so opted for the awl. Then
that Awlsome Solution made itself known!!
Enjoy!
