Starting to put my kit together, most likely just a driver or two, knife and Cobra XS, need to add folding scissors and a bottle opener but will put that on my keychain when I swap out the Rambler

What brand is that combo screwdriver being sold under in Australia? It is being sold under the Stanley brand name here in the US. I just bought one last week for $1.97US at Home Depot.

I will try to take pictures of my kit this weekend. It will be what I carry everyday at work minus a modded Core and a SAK or SAK-alike. I just need replace the MT with some form of needlenose or long nose pliers.

Stanley brand here too Adam, got it off Amazon, actually two as I really like it and so keep one in a kit.

Paid about 3 times as much though …McStitchy has one too and remember he paid quite a lot less in Ireland. You get stung for everything here, the Australia Tax as we jokingly call it

So here's my new pliers contender for this challenge.

Maybe won't work as well as Cobras for some things, but I really like the neddle nose in my PST.

I've made a few changes myself.

I'll carry my 5" knipex plier-wrench, unless the 6" that I ordered comes in time. Man, do they grip.

I got the Pliers Wrench XS early via Ebay, and I love it. The 120mm gets used around the apartment, but the XS lives in my pocket.

This is probably going to be the toolset I will use. I am going to try it out tomorrow.

If this proves to be too heavy, the Husky heavy duty wire strippers will move to a 2nd Nite Ize Pock-its or will be replaced with regular wire strippers.

The only difference in this toolset and what I carry everyday is that the heavy duty wire strippers replace my modded Core and the 5" Knipex water pump pliers typically reside in my 2nd Pock-its, which I do carry on most days. I will change some items during the challenge to keep things interesting.

I think RP will recognize those scissors.

I couldn't resist buying it, even though I already have a couple of Klein small combo screwdrivers. It looked too handy to pass up at that price.

After awl the things you guys have given the world, such as chicken salt, Crocodile Dundee, "Crikey", and Men At Work, and this is how you are treated?!

(Please note that I have never tried chicken salt, Paul Hogan and Steve Irwin are okay in my estimation, and I like Men At Work)

It does suck that you have to pay a substantial amount more for many items. I guess the lower volume of trade and the distance accounts for a large part of the "tax".

I need some early adjudication on my folding knife selections.

First is the Leatherman KBX, which claims the pocket clip is a bottle opener too. Is this knife permitted?

Second, the Leatherman Crater C33. The carabiner might count as an additional tool. Is this knife permitted?

The kit is evolving. First, several options for tools.

What I think I'm likely to carry.

And a pouch that will carry two, while the Excelsior rides in a pocket.

Finally, I forgot I had this. It's an antique ratchet screwdriver, and while it's heavier than the Stanley, I might carry it just for the nostalgia.

Here's my tentative lineup. I'm going to be pocket carrying, so the screwdriver and folding knife will be clipped inside of my front pocket, the prybar will be in my wallet, and I guess my pliers will just float free in a pocket.

Been looking at my options …kit on the left is lightweight and pretty useful just haven’t decided if the Stanley driver is too lightweight and should go for the Picquic instead, adds weight but way more utility. Got a couple of months to decide

This is an interesting challenge. It has been so long since I've used single purpose tools I'm not sure if I remember how. I'm looking at all of you choosing screw driver handles with bit kits and my initial thought was I wouldn't have to get one because I'd just use the CT-41. Soon after that thought, the synapsis in my brain fired (they're running a little slow today) and reminded me that the CT-41 is a multitool.

Then I see that Rich can't use the Skele knife because the pocket clip is also a bottle opener.

This is harder than it looks. Deceptively so. I was looking forward to doing a Batman challenge again. That and the 111mm challenge usually run in January, but nobody has mentioned or listed them for 2022. Carrying tools on my belt in an organizer is the same as the Batman challenge anyway. So, I guess, you might tentatively put me down as a maybe.
