Day 21

Fantastic day in the office. The security manager was complaining about being short of radio belt clips.
We had five broken ones in the office. Some coat hanger wire, some Knipex, some elbow grease, and I managed to fix three.

Nice job. Wire coat hangers are magical.

Possibly the strangest fix I've made with a piece of coat hanger is a shim to increase the spring pressure on a Zippo flint. Technically there were open gas stations around that probably carry flints, but we needed that lighter to work right now.

Being at the hospital since yesterday evening, I may not be able to post a picture of a dedicated tool... Or maybe a Phillips IntelliVue scope counts as one?
But as it monitors Blood pressure, cardiac frequency, respiratory frequency and SpO2....
(No worries, everything nearly back to normal now, but they are keeping me)

DAY 20  Forgot to post last night, and this is my story.  Some time ago I bought some Tokyo rigs for fishing, but they're pricey, and I'm kind of cheap.  So I got some wire to make my own.  Yesterday decided to do that, and found my wire bending pliers.  I thought the Knipex might be really helpful as it has a groove to grab wire.  Then I looked for the wire.  Then I looked some more...and I haven't found it yet.   I'm sure it's in a Logical Place, which is where I put all the stuff I can't find again.  ::)

DAY 21  So after searching two Logical Places to leave stuff, I found my stainless steel wire!  The Knipex gripped the wire while I bent it, which is very important when you've added the hook.  :tu:  Fireman Tackle Company Tokyo rig completed!  8)

I suppose it's good that they didn't want to borrow your pliers to fix you up.  :ahhh  Get well soon!

Frankly, Tuesday was boring.

Well, not for me. For me it was a roller coaster of circumstance and emotion, culminating in an ending fraught with portent. Spoiler alert: everything is already back to normal.

But as far as this challenge is concerned, it was boring.

Missing a pic on this post.  In challenges you are supposed to post a pic everyday , looks like you have been neglecting that in this challenge.   :dunno:

Day 21

We had rain yesterday, followed by below freezing temps. Some water found its way into the lock for my shed and then froze. I needed to heat up or tap on the lock some to get the key to turn. Unfortunately, my torch and my tools reside in the shed. Except for my tool kit. A few judicious taps with my Knipex did the trick  :D

Day 21

After a long day of performance reviews, I am enjoying a nice bourbon.  It's strange that all of my education and experience has resulted in me just telling people what to do, and telling them how well they do it.  Oh, I also get to talk to people about what other people are doing, and I approve or decline lots of different requests.  My job is pretty much just talking and approving/declining things.😱

Something something about my tools.

Loosening the fork of my winterized MTB means being able to store it more safely in the hallway. I don't have to do this during road bike season, because road bars are way skinnier.

5mm hex key! These are stored in the "linen" closet in that hallway anyway, so this is quite convenient for me.

Using a fork instead of my camping spork to get jalapenos out of the jar. This has been the single most consistent change over the challenge; I use that spork almost every day, but since it's multifunction, I decided to forego it until February.

The fork was invented, of course, by Sir Reginald Forkey-Pokerton.

Knowing what was in the package from Chapters that arrived today, I opened it with a stag-handled Grohmann.

This may end up being really dry, but John Rae is a very underrated northern explorer.

This makes it sound like I've been skipping days like crazy. I'll post on January 32nd to make up for it, I guess.

I feel as though there should be an exception for jalapenos.
