Question about the Rebar
on: October 30, 2021, 05:57:06 PM
So my first BO Rebar arrived and I’m quite excited about it. Something I noticed though is that the shape edges of the saw and plain edge blade strike the inside of the tool, which will cause dulling if I’m not careful.
Is this a normal feature of the Rebar? I know the blade doesn’t have a kick, but there’s  a piece of metal that I’m assuming is supposed to stop the blades

If I remember correctly, mine were like that and I think they both had a tiny dull section on the blade because of it. I was never a huge fan of the Rebar and sold the two I had not long after I got them... but I know they are highly rated by other members - I am the exception.  :D

Congrats !

I've not noticed any dulling in either on my Rebars, I wouldn't worry about it    :tu:

The PE blade on mine has a small section like that just behind the belly. I can live with it, was just curious if it was normal and sounds like it is. Thanks  :tu:

Thanks  I’ll just have to be careful not to let the blade snap closed, no big deal. Overall I’m quite happy with it, especially at the price I paid. It’s a used tool, and seems to have been carried enough that all the excess black oxide is in another guys pocket, and the tools all appear to be unused  :woohoo:
