DAY 28!!!

I had a lot of fun doing this.  This was the first "challenge" that I have participated in.

I used to carry the Mini a lot when I had an office job because although I COULD get away with carrying my Signal in a sheath, it was generally seen as a good move to not have anything on our belts.  I used to use it a lot back then to pull giant staples out of building plans.  The last month gave me some opportunities to use the Mini again.  It is my 3rd favorite Leatherman after the Signal and the Crunch.

Day 28

I had a good time carrying the Mini and interacting with you fine people. I have found that the Mini, when paired with a good multifunction pocket knife, is more than adequate for me. I suspect it will find more time in my pocket or pocket organizer in the future.

Now I plan try out a few MTs that have been sitting in a drawer waiting their turn, such as this MT that I plan to carry tomorrow:

This one has the little notch in the wire cutters.
Hard wire cutters?

Never mind that I was observing from the sidelines; this was a great challenge. I agree with the assessments made...namely, I don't think I'd use a Mini as a regular carrier. They're too dang expensive to replace. However, I want to get one for the collection. It'll take a while for that plan to come to fruition, though.

Great job on this challenge, y'awl!

Day 27

Here is the combo I have been carrying for the past week:

(Image removed from quote.)

That is a great looking combo, Adam!

Awesome final thoughts, Zephon :tu: :like: :like:

Badge awarded as well :woohoo:

I will get my post up in a while but most of you already know how I feel about this tool  ;) :D

Thanks, Poncho!  :hatsoff:

I felt the same way!

Nice writeup too  :tu:

Thanks, Rich!  :hatsoff:

I can’t blame you for not being a fan of the Mini.  It’s a heavy tool relative to its functions, expensive to replace, and it’s easily overshadowed by other ‘more common/more expendable’ tools like the Skeletool.  For one thing though, the Mini is very very photogenic! Haha!

It’s a great challenge with a great bunch of people to do it with!

….as an epilogue, early this afternoon (March 1 now here in Manila) I needed to ‘lighten up’ a wooden drawer cabinet. After removing the drawers, I removed the legs which were each held in place by 4 screws.  Did I use the Mini? Nope! I used an ST300 with the ratcheting bit driver hahaha!

After carrying the Mini for a month, who is up for a Kilimanjaro Magnus Challenge?
Anybody interested?

I am with you, David. Sos24 is hosting a SAK scissors challenge this month that I would have joined, but I am not up for another challenge at the moment.

Think I'll pass  :D

Not man enough for the Magnus, huh?
Neither am I!

It is a monstrosity that has been sold under 3 different brands iirc.

Carry it for 30 days for us!

I almost got the CAT also. That was around the time I developed some sense about what was worth spending money on. I have some really bad MTs that I bought because they were different  :twak:

Not me. I can't legally carry that thing in the city. (Stupid blade length limit. Granted, it's unlikely that I'd be harassed over it, but I'm not a chance-taker.)

Day 24

I already have a Klein mini ratchet and didn't really need the Wiha. I blame ReamerPunch for this unnecessary expenditure  :D

(Image removed from quote.)

That's a great kit. I might get the Wiha after all. And I might get the Mini badge too. :like:
