A very nice gesture!
on: December 23, 2021, 01:23:25 AM
Back in early Summer I was contacted by McStitchy about buying and getting a tool across the pond for him

Well, I bought the tool and it took probably 6 weeks to get to me :ahhh we both were watching it sit and then finally one day it moved :woohoo: not long after it made it to me :like:

I took some pics for him and promptly packaged it up and got it on its merry way :salute:

This is where the real craziness started :ahhh I had sent him the tracking number and we watched it bounce back in forth around the US  and then some more and some more

Finally ending back to my local Post Office  I contacted them and asked them what was up and they really didn't know ::) So off it went again.... I forget how many times it came back and was delivered to me a couple times as well :bnghd:

The last time I received it, I boxed it up differently and sent it again. The Post Office finally got it to go across the Pond  :woohoo:

Guess what  yep, it came back to the US :crash:

It was almost comical yet aggravating at the same time  I even told my wife that if it comes back again I don't know what I will do

Well it finally didn't come back to me :woohoo:

I forget how long it took from when it was bought to when he finally received it :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh but we were in contact about it the whole time :D

Fast forward to yesterday evening.... I received a package in the mail :o and it was from our own favorite Stitched up guy :D

It took like 2 weeks to get here  It was some fudge in a very nice tin and a couple postcards :salute: :like:

I appreciate it buddy and the postcards are hanging with the rest of my Christmas cards

Glad that it resolved for good at both ends.

So, almost 6 months to get there, but only two weeks to get to the CONUS; that's crazy!

My first PST II ...

...ah...you meant the tracking history. I guess that one is cleared.

Edit:
Found it. It's still in the system. 54 positions on that list between Poncho and even customs once and all sorts inbetween from July 4th to August 18th, when it was delivered back to his door.
Not to mention that it got lost for 6 weeks before that.

Are you counting the times it bounced around after I repackaged it and resent it :ahhh Not even sure I gave you the second tracking number because I was almost afraid it wouldn't make it and it would get your hopes up :o Lookong back we can laugh but I was not laughing when it was happening :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :D

Totally crazy

One of those stories you laugh at after, but when it's going on it's far from fun.
Glad it made it safely in the end :tu:

It’s wack! you don’t have to tell me, we live in Michigan, I watched a package get shipped off from like Ny, easy right, I watched it go down to Louisiana, all the way over to Washington state, then Ohio before heading up into Michigan? Talk about taking a little trip,, heck I can see the Canada border, I had one package coming from over there latterly only a 2hr drive, but it had to go through Michigan to Ohio, over to ny, then back to Michigan before ending up on my steps! It’s totally crazy!!

It's not just the US postage that has issues.

For the last 3 months Australia Post just refuses to accept any packages for Ireland at all ( I think it is something to do with lack of flights going from Oz to Ireland since Covid started to affect international air travel).   >:(

I have a package for the stitched one that has been sitting on a cupboard for months, just waiting for AusPost to finally get their act together (this was after it was returned once after actually getting to Ireland then being rejected because it didn't have the correct TARIC code on the customs form).   >:( >:( >:(

Maybe McStitchy broke a few too many mirrors or walked under one too many ladders or something as a kid ?

Best that I can relate to this saga is I had one hit my regional post office 3 different times before it finally reached me, but 54 stops is ridiculous.
