Really nice knife! It's from 1952-1953 imho. It's mentioned in early 1950s catalog as Craftsman mod.136ka .(Image removed from quote.)
That looks like it but this one doesn't have the cork screw, instead it's got the phillips screwdriver with a (very fine) filing surface on the side.
Lovely old knife! If you care about period authenticity someone here might be able to help you out with aluminium tipped tweezers & a new scissor spring.
Welcome to the forum Greg! Your Grandpa's knife must bring back some great memories!
Interesting saw blade on the old knife.Victornox must have changed how they made the blades since then.
Right, I think the older style saws were designed to really cut on the pull stroke only, whereas the current design cuts on both pull and push strokes.
Lovely old knife. I'm sure grandpa is proud you still have it. Give it a good clean and call it good, thats what I'd do ( not that you asked ).
and welcome to best place - with the best people
I worked at a Radio Shack store when I was in college around 1992 or 1993 and they were selling these there.
Oh it does for sure. That was my first knife. When he let me have it I was sure I'd be carving sticks from the back yard into beautiful pieces of art, filleting fish, and doing god knows what else! The good old days!
