Spirit: Got Hooked on a Tool Addition
on: February 09, 2022, 03:55:49 AM
Was pulled over last night. License plate lights were out. Did not get a ticket. (Whew) This meant having to pull them lights fixtures out, which being rear ended a few years ago made things... interesting. In any case got them pulled out, found some LED light replacements I bought 2 years ago.

  [/url]

Got one installed using the Spirit tool. The other connecter slipped up inside! :ahhh Fished around using the can opener, no bites. Tried that hook feature, pointless. Was headed inside the house for some wire when I seen this small bungee cord laying by the door. I wonder...

Was a very tight fit onto the Philips shaft! reached up in that hole, first try, got a bite! :woohoo: Pulled it out and got it mounted back in. Thinking these small hooks are going to be in my kit if I can find a place for them, as this really saved the day. Maybe I can coat them with something rubbery to prevent shorts. To remove the spring was fun. Hooked it under the bumper and gave a tug.

That's great :like:
As for coating on the hooks, you could try plastidip/rubber spray :tu:

This was taken after retrieving the bugger from up in its rabbit hole. I could barely see a corner of the connector... and that snap-on hook worked!  :D

Great story, great conclusion; very ingenious!
Thanks for such a great idea, OiI. :tu: :hatsoff:

As for protection, what others have said: Plasti Dip; also, spray on bedliner or shrink tubing over the hook end.
