Signal whistle mod

Hope everyone is doing well. Wanted to share a quick mod that I made to my Signal.  Popped the ferro rod out of the whistle, drilled a whole in the larger end, dyed it black, cut a spare USB cable to length and pulled out the guts, and added a Victorinox tweezer and a needle.  The space isn’t wide enough for tweezer and toothpick, but I’d rather have the needle anyway.  I’m a big fan of the Signal and pair it with a Victorinox Midnite manager, so thought this was a cool, quick and easy way to improve my carry a bit.

I'm not a fan of the yellow at all. What did you dye it with and how easy was it to do?

Very easy. Enough boiling water to submerge the whistle and some RIT dye.  Let it sit for a few hours. Theres a bit of a blue tint to it that another round of dye might fix, but good enough for me.

Just noticing how terrible the pictures are. Sorry about that, not sure what happened.

Add some vinegar to the bath next go round. Nice mod. That’s using the ole head there 👍
