Day 9
My package arrived! Used my Swisstool to open a box of well, other Swisstools - in the black finish...beautiful tools. Love the serrated blades and are they sharp! Excited to put these to use...although they are almost too pretty to risk dinging them up! I was also pleasantly surprised that they included a sheath - did not realize this when I ordered...so a little bonus!

Quite a nice coin actually  :tu:
Sure is. I wish I still had the one I was given upon my PCS (permanent change of station) from USS Lake Champlain. Never mind that it had the word "ingenuity" spelled incorrectly...

I'd have killed for a Swisstool back in the days when I ran air-cooled Volkswagens.
I'd have a Beetle as a winter driver if it weren't for the suboptimal heater.

Great work by awl! :tu:

You're not kidding about that heater . I had a water bottle freeze on me... while I was driving it!

Day 10: It occurred to me that I don't think I've ever used the wire cutters on any of my Swisstools.  Alexanderre's post brought it to my attention so I gave them a try, but on zip straps.  The worked very well!

Powernoodle Day 10

I used the awl to de-tangle an old bungee cord.

Honestly, that old bungee cord had such a massive, rock-solid knot that there was no way I could have untangled it without the awl.

Try a stranded copper wire - even mine cuts zip ties all right

Day 10

Back to the XBS as I needed a non-serrated blade. The side brush of our vacuum robot stopped worked. Turns out some of my wife's hair was so tightly wrapped around the stud where the brush is mounted on, that it couldn 't turn anymore. Had to disassemble it to clean it thoroughly. Needed the help of my micro screwdriver set, as there were some screws the Spirit could not reach.

Amazing shots of actual use  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

I was allowed home early, after yesterdays late finish, so the only use for me was opening another bottle of this ale (it's quite good)  :drink:

Carry on the good work awl  :salute:

I have to clean mine regularly....the dogs create lots of stuff for the vacuum. My little front wheel gets gummed up with dog hair. I do like these vacuums, though. Good use of the Spirit.

Day 10, SwissTool helped with semiannual battery exchange for my desk clock.

I love the SwissTool black.  The dings and other marks just and character.

Day 10

Played (umm...used) my new Swisstool MXBS today - used the pliers to remove some screw eyes from a fence to prep for painting. Worked great and I like the classy look of the burnished black finish! One thing I have noticed with this tool is sometimes when I deploy the scissors the awl raises a little - kind of clumping like LM does. Not sure if it is defective or some of the black oxide in the pivot causing it to stick a little? Anyone experienced that issue? I tried to clean everything off really well. Maybe I need to try and lubricate the pivot.

I agree...something about the finish is elegant, yet rugged. Nice to have some in my rotation.
