Day 24

A yacht at work left the quay with its mast down and as it turned the mast hit our electric post causing damage. I taped it up to hold it together until it can be repaired and used the plain edge blade to cut the tape.

That stinks.  Not much some duck tape and a multitool can’t do.

Day 24
I used the driver for tightening up a couple screws on a fan and the scissors helped trim some strings, but just decide to take a glamour shot while walking in the rain.

I do too.  That little extra length gives it some more leverage.

For Day 25, we took a hike.  The weather was fairly pleasant here today.

Day25/31

Today was a very busy day with the Spirit. It started with fruit cutting duties for the orchids and tested an orange fruit thingy from our garden. Knife still very sharp...

Coffee bag cutting duties for mid-morning coffee and after that straight to the garage. The boy-child's BMX needed front brake attention. The main bolt that holds the brakes onto the frame was slightly bent. Whilst removing that with Spirit pliers I discovered the metal retaining round bit that holds the spring in place cracked. That was not repairable, so we ended up making one set from a old brake calliper I had in the spares box. The brakes are good now, cable adjusted and new brake shoes fitted. Boy-child is very happy with the end result. One pic only as I needed all my fingers to get this sorted. I also did not want to much grime on the phone camera. All in all a good day with the Spirit.

Cheers, Pete

Day 24 (catch-up)

An inflatable mattress started to deflate again, so once again I had to find a tiny little hole and patch it. Scissors helped to make a patch

Day 25/30. Packet opening with the Belt Cutter. Ordered some more energy drink powder for cycling. They can be quite hit and miss in taste but these powders are good and don't taste too artificial.

Day 26/31

Today was the first time the Spirit was not quite suitable. Some of our shower hooks came off and I decided to put some new double sided tape on. I went to the local hardware store to get some Gorilla sticky stuff. This stuff is really good and sticks quite well. And that was probably the problem with trying to cut it with the Spirit scissors. The scissors cut through it quite well, but moving it forward created a clumping problem with the glue. For this stuff, a single cut with a bigger scissors is best. Some of the glue worked itself into the scissors and I needed a good amount of Isopropyl Alcohol to clean that off. After that a good dose of mineral oil and scissors is happy again!!! Lesson learnt. I doubt if any MT scissors would have worked for this. Not a fail, not the right tool this time.

Cheers, Pete

I had exactly the same problem last week with exactly the same stuff. Stanley knife to the rescue  :salute:

Powernoodle Day 26

Amazon!

Our popcorn maker, which was a wedding gift 30 years ago, died this year.  So a replacement was in order.  Everyone is invited to the Powernoodle Compound tonite for popcorn and a movie.  Spouses and spices are welcomed.  Fisher will get along great with BattleKat and John Adams the Goldendoodle.
