DAY 25 (Catch-Up)

I was out of decent signal range yesterday so apologies for the tardiness of the post  ::)
I was asked to assist  :twak: do a shower replacement for my mate who lives in the ar*e end of nowhere.

The first pic' shows the tools used and the others show the Spirit in action  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

1st) Tools used.

2nd) Awl to make a hole in the rear casing.

3rd) Phillips to rewire the electrical connection.

It awl went reasonably well* and the shower worked (people got wet and not electrocuted)  :dunno:

*Notable mention to the Crunch without whom the water supply (to the unit) would not have happened as NOTHING else fitted  :tu: However, no pics as I needed both hands and teeth  :D
They don't like it up 'em!

Day 26

Went to see the new TopGun movie today and wasn’t disappointed. Nice to see Budweiser was still being consumed in the movie  :drink:

It nice to see Budweiser consumed, by others! It's not good stuff. I'm more a Coney Island Lager fan  :drink:

As for Top Gun (Maverick) Do I need to get another Flat Top haircut to see it  :dunno: (I could revisit my 80's wardrobe as well  )

Happy anniversary and hope Fisher's okay!
Fisher’s good.  The thorns just got tangled in his long ear hair, so I thought cutting out would be easier and less painful than try to untangle.

Our popcorn maker, which was a wedding gift 30 years ago, died this year.  So a replacement was in order.  Everyone is invited to the Powernoodle Compound tonite for popcorn and a movie.  Spouses and spices are welcomed.  Fisher will get along great with BattleKat and John Adams the Goldendoodle.

Had to change the oil in my car and the SwissTool phillips and small flat head worked perfectly to remove the access panel and reinstall when done.

Day 27

Finally a first real use of the Spirit

At 4 AM for some reason we got a short in this outlet and the power was gone. So as I woke up I used Spirit to examine it.
Flathead to remove the lid

Gosh I’ve never seen this much gunk inside of the outlet - no idea how they managed to leave it like that

Anyway, pulled it with pliers, cleaned and assembled back

Ahh, Phillips was used to tighten all the contacts - for some reason they were really loose. Forgot to take a picture though

Anyway, turns out it’s not the cause of the problem. A fridge and a dishwasher were plugged into this outlet. We use the fridge of course, but never used the dishwasher - simply because we rent this place and don’t even have our own dishes and those provided by the owner are not economically reasonable to wash that way. Turns out a dishwasher is the problem something must have gone wrong with the power cable, because as soon as I plug it into any outlet - we see a flash and the power is gone

P.S.: I wouldn’t have been able to get this done with my beloved Work Champ - a long enough mid-sized flathead was needed. Doable with a Swiss Champ, but anyway glad I had a Spirit.

P.P.S.: still waiting for the information from Victorinox on how to get my pliers fixed or replaced. They replied to my email, and said they are trying to reach local Ukrainian representative, but anyway - when I had an issue with a LM Signal Leatherman replied on Twitter on the same day. Here it’s been almost a month

Sorry you had to wait that long, but I imagine it is not easy to get into contact with some businesses in your country right now. Hopefully you'll hear back from them soon
