Micarta Scales Source?
on: April 06, 2022, 01:04:00 PM
Does anyone have any sources for Micarta scales (91mm)? Been looking at etsy, DLT, smkw and so on, but all out of stock  :dunno:

Yeah. I was searching a couple weeks ago. Sources have pretty well dried up. It’s too bad. I really love the RGT scales from DLT. I guess it’s time to start embracing titanium.

I’ve made my own before, many times. But it’s so messy and so much work to do by hand.

Your thread about your Swisschamp got me started on the idea to get some micarta in the first place  :D

I am not a fan of titanium or most other metal scales. They are cold compared to micarta or wood, heavy and expensive. I won't pay more than 4 times for scales, than i paid for the SAK.

I have not worked with micarta yet. I have done my own wooden scales with good success, just never with the scale tools cutout. Never liked how it came out. They are important to have though, so i guess i am stuck with buying some.
