It's my second Beetle

I remember riding in the back seat of a ~1969 Bug that my mother drove.  White, like Disney's Love Bug.  Rear engine, air cooled.  Good times.

I thought I remembered an empty space behind the back seat, where I used to ride when I was a youngling.  But I could not find any pics of such a thing online.

Powernoodle Day 9

I still haven't figured out the extreme engineering that causes a walnut to transform into a mighty tree.  There is more going on here than meets the eye.

It's there Powernoodle.  I used to keep some gear in it.  Not much space, but just enough.

+1 on walnut trees....we have a ton of them!

DAY 9  Opening some heartworm chews.  Crappy one-hand pic in bad light, but I assure you that the chews taste great.

Day… What day am I on now?

I’m carrying the Tourist again today because 84mm rocks!

So far, I’ve used the main blade to cut some string for my string trimmer while doing some yard work. No action shot, sadly, because I didn’t have my phone with me while I was out there.

Also, I just won an eBay auction for a vintage Tourist for less than $10!

This talk of VWs is making me wish I still had my '67 Beetle.

Day 9

No action shots, but Jimmy is grateful that I used the master blade to open a bag of cat food. (The others are awlso grateful, but their gratitude doesn't extend to willingness to pose for a challenge photo.)

After keeping 2 of my grandkids last night, picking up the Boss Lady from the car repair place, and taking the above 3 female type folks to breakfast, my Spartan finally got to open the package that I've been looking for.

We then took a nap.

Day 16

Midway through and switching it up. Got this in an ebay lot (I think with the wood Huntsman I carried at the start of the last challenge.) No toothpick and tweezers, and I'm guessing walnut for the scales. Great hand feel. Back has 2020 and Thank You in three languages engraved. I don't feel like the liners are poking out the way they were on the Huntsman. Will carry for at least a couple days and see how it does.

Very nice.  I really wish that Victorinox could make their LE scales more permanent.  I've got too many that have lost their image due to carry.

DAY 09

I realized last night that I hadn't posted as I was getting in bed. I did use my Spartan as it helped me make breakfast by cutting up potatoes and some jalapenos for breakfast.

But I fell asleep before I posted anything.

So it goes. I may keep carrying the Spartan or go back to my Alpineer or Nomad since I have found I do just fine sans scissors.

Thanks for the fun, but I couldn't stay awake ;-)

Well, it's a fairly nice, but overcast, Sunday afternoon here.  Nothing special to get up to except to figure out what lanyard I want to put on my micarta spartan.

I believe you are correct.

:iagree: I own one SAK that is particularly bad: white scales with a printed logo (and Swiss cross). The scales have gotten grimy and dingy, while the logo and Swiss cross are halfway worn off. The two exceptions to my rule of "don't carry printed SAKs" bear the logo of a great organization, and I have duplicates of each that will stay pristine.

Day 10

While checking to see if any deliveries had been made, I spotted a random and very out of place mulberry.

I have to admit that I've been having a really easy time without having the 91mm scissors during this challenge so far. I mean, Victorinox scissors are amazing at every size they make them, but their absence has really only had me in a bind one time in the past 10 days.

It actually has me thinking about a Camper/Hiker - it adds a unique tool to my typical 91mm/84mm + Rambler EDC, the saw layer is really skinny compared to other layer options so it doesn't add much weight/thickness, and... I don't own a Vic saw yet.
