Victorinox large scissor spring advice

Does anyone know which spring the Swiss Knife Shop has?   

My brother just gave me my dad’s old Super Tinker, circa early 1980’s I think, and its scissors are missing its spring.  It clearly lacks the trough that the new spring rides in on my Compact.   So I would actually like the old one.  If no one knows, I’ll contact them, then if it’s still unclear I will order one and worse case I’ll have a backup for my new Compact.

Ideal would be to find a store which has a box of parts including A.3757 (no suffix) which should fit if it is early 80s.  If the knife was made a few years earlier it may need the smaller eyed A.2757.

The tang stamp looks to be between 1973-2005 on one side and 1986-2006 on the other, while the scissors have a screw pivot, and the awl doesn’t have a sewing eye but otherwise looks modern, and I think that combo means 1985-86-ish.

However, I now see that the old spring was broken just past the eye and isn’t easily removed from the eye (there is a good bit of corrosion on this knife).  So that will give me something to work on first.

Not sure if this helps or not but, I recently got hold of a Huntsman (4-line tang; awl with eye; parcel hook; two-position flat blade sd/bottle opener implement; scissors with screw pivot and spring channel; lanyard ring on awl/openers layer, next to awl; no idea of what its vintage is) with a missing scissors spring. Got a non-keyed replacement spring (a 6-pack from  DLT Trading) that I installed and, has been three weeks with no perceptible reduction in performance, or malfunction. This might be a solution for someone having a user knife or, a temporary arrangement until  the correct one might be found.

Im sorry about the issues you are facing Dunc and this post wont be of any help. I just want to give you a shoutout since you have just taught me a new thing about my beloved SAKs. I had absolutely no idea that the scissors had a groove in them for the spring. 👀🤯

The two springs that the Swiss Knife Shop sent me are old style springs.  This worked for me given the two knives with broken springs both have older style scissors (mid 80’s super Tinkers with screw pivots), but doesn’t help the OP..

Im sorry about the issues you are facing Dunc and this post wont be of any help. I just want to give you a shoutout since you have just taught me a new thing about my beloved SAKs. I had absolutely no idea that the scissors had a groove in them for the spring. 👀🤯
