I finished mowing the yard today then caught up on Rings of Power.  It is pretty good.

Didnt get any Ranger use today being a lazy Sunday.

Here is a glamor shot.

Day 12 of 30

Ranger will assist trimming the ends.  Installing a lanyard on the 684 for pull function to remove from its new sheath.
Found that the 113 sheath does fit my 684 nicely with good retention.

I am, and just watched episode 3 last night.
You do not need to know any of the previous LOTR movies or stories for this as it is the beginning.
IMHO, I do believe the story is doing an excellent job laying the foundation for the characters and a story plot.
After this I will need to rewatch the other sagas in order to appreciate the entire tale.

The scenery in all were in some scenes so breathtaking, I missed the dialog. New Zealand  is amazing!
That's good to hear.  I haven't watched the new Amazon production, but really do like the original trilogy movies.  Just a few glimpse from the trailer, the scenic are breathtaking and does remind me how it felt watching the trilogy in a theatre for the first time.

Ranger Challenge II
Day 11

Opened a package today that I purchased for next month's fixed blade challenge. I've needed one for the Western for quite some time. It was marked down from $10 to $6.50,,,,can't argue with that. I will likely leave it in its natural color and just wax it.

What?  $6.5 for a fixed blade like that?  That's a steal! :like:

Day 12: went to Tractor Supply to pick up a few things, and noticed they were in the process of putting the Christmas items out--including the diecast.

The Maisto Mini Work Machines line hasn't been easy to find in the US--and still, most of it is only sold in Europe. Seems that some small hobby retailers here in the US will occasionally carry some of the lines Maisto sells mostly in Europe, but it's incredibly rare. I had previously purchased a set with most of the same pieces of equipment, but the Volvo FH-16 and lowboy/low-loader trailer was impossible to find. They also have New Holland and Bobcat lines in Mini Work Machines, but so far, only select Volvo items have showed up in the States.

I noticed that among the few items they'd put out, they had a set that also included the Volvo FH-16 I'd been looking for. I sort of balked at spending $15, especially given I already had all the construction equipment (and had paid $20 for those from a hobby shop in MA), but it would've cost me more than $15 (at least that in shipping) to get the FH-16 from Europe, so I went ahead with it.

It's 1:87 scale, so it's perfectly suited to my older German-made 1:87 construction equipment.  What bugs me about the equipment is that it is fit the box. I think the L25H wheel loaders are 1:64, but the articulated haulers and excavator are probably in the N-scale region of 1:148-1:160. I wish Maisto had just made everything to 1:87 scale.

Others have told me that Tractor Supply is starting to reverse the continuing trend of cutting back the diecast/toy items; and actually stocking more for the Christmas season. I'm hoping my store does the same. Apparently, we're also getting the Volvo CE 5-packs as per the TSC website. I'm missing the EC220E with breaker and the smooth drum compactor/roller to have a complete set of the construction equipment---and both are in the 5-pack assortment.

112 unboxed a new knife from Boker, really like this one, lightweight, good action, decent handle and blade length, it checked a lot of boxed for me.

Made visit to a Club Store.  Had a list, tried to stay to it!
A case of Arizona Palmer Lite Ice Tea was added and a box of Jimmy Dean Biscuit Sausage and egg biscuits did to.
Cut the biscuits box down to safe the instructions and spread contents between freezer compartments.
