Second Ranger this year as BOTM, I had trapped the first one, drawn in by the S35VN steel, carbon fiber scales and USA made sheath.    [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

Gotta say...that is one sweet Ranger!

( And I'll add that I'm glad I missed that email from Buck!  :dwts: )

These are the Buck entrants for the fixed blade challenge

2016 857 El Morro and '72-74 105 Pathfinder (but it's paired with a modern sheath with a strap I hate)

Day Twenty One

Today was a 112 Classic kind day.

Here's the sword the Buck opened.

Cold Steel 1917 Naval Cutlass I got for 100 bucks last week. It was on a good sale plus 10% off. Came with a nice scabbard too.  :like:

The 112 works really well for vege prep, better than I expected being someone who usually uses a large santoku

Mrs Nix was quick to agree to a pot of chili.
:like: I checked out your link, too. Bacon in chili... :tu:

It is yet to warm here for Chili...
I don't think it's ever too warm for chili!

Great photos and uses from awl! :tu: I'm now rushing to get this message posted, as my phone's battery needs charging in a bad way.

Day 21

The usual package opening today. One packages contents are a reminder that fall will soon be in the air (and we may well be 20+ degrees cooler tomorrow!).

It is, isn’t it!

Day 21 of  30
Confession time

This morning, torturing my fritter this morning, break off a piece, and at end of my fork hold it below the surface of the coffee until air bubbles cease appearing

I did give in to temptation. I did very well early, the notice of a BOTM hit my phone at the barber shop, afterwards stopped at the grocery to pickup essentials, suffered register shock.  Went home, put items away, then drove across town for grandsons soccer game.  At break between periods I checked my phone and sneaked a peak, “a Ranger, black!”

Everything is a blur, I know we loss the game by 1 goal, had dinner with daughter, her husband and grandson, then drove home.  Settled in and watched half of a movie and went to bed.

Woke this morning, checked the weather, scanned email titles, annnnd, “Thank you for your order” message from Buck!!!!

Almost the true.   I gave in ordered late last night, someone reported number left is displayed when you add an item to your cart.  I did, it did not display, I went further, went to checkout, then shipping option, then payment, and I do not recall the rest.  It is tooo easy!!!

Second Ranger this year as BOTM, I had trapped the first one, drawn in by the S35VN steel, carbon fiber scales and USA made sheath.    [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

Last night, I argued with myself and lost!   I think the point it is less expensive than a Jack Wolf release, most GEC releases and easier to obtain, were key points.  Plus I just like my Rangers.

It is done! I am weak

Hello, Rangers, my name is LC and I am a Ranger-holic…
I too gave in and orderer one.  I rationalized the purchase by telling myself it was cheaper and than the KSG shotgun and the RMJ Sparrow Zombie I’ve looking at.

Dang it all LC. After telling you it was better to ask yourself for forgiveness than to ask yourself for permission I had a long look into my own heart, and my wallet, and broke down and ordered a Bradford Guardian 3.5 sheepsfoot and micarta for next month's fixed blade challenge.
Congrats. I look forward to seeing.

Day 21
I could have took a picture of another popsicle being opened or some more box cutting, but instead I figured I would take a picture with my beer.  The pivot end of the Ranger works pretty good for lifting the tab.

Oh, I feel so much better I was not the only one to give in to the temptation.
It does help to rationalize it, just a wee little bit. 😉

I would confess to my wife, she would give me the look, maybe bang some pots in the stove or make a not favorite dinner.  My kids do not understand.  Here I am at home no one to talk to except Alexia 😉.

I know it is the enabler talking inside me, but whenever I tell myself one thing is cheaper than the other, more often than not they all still find their ways into my home.

What time is it and what direction is it traveling? Inquiring minds need to know?   :D

I'll guess. 1000 to 1100 in the morning and the edge of the the Ranger is pointed south???      :D

There is probably a good chance of the KSG being bought at some point, but I think I’m safe from the Sparrow.

They come by it naturally, Moms do!

However, I would say, She paid attention, when I would look at knife display at Walmart for discounts, or at Menards.
One day, she went to some garage sales with her sisters, when I came home from work, after dinner, she put a small bag on the table, she showed me her finds, a Buck Bantam, BBW, a Leatherman Micra and a Wave, a Mora and sheath.  All for less than $20 and different sales.  She was a gem!😔 she found stuff of hers too, but she I think was proud more for getting …
