Day 26 -
Tough day for me for some reason!!! (Maybe chemicals injected for PET scan?)
Was undecided what my carry would be this day.  So I tried a couple, yet non selected made the CUT!

I finally selected a Copperhead, just because it was smaller, and it’s clean appearance was appealing.

They have a quality control problem with their MTs imo, so I am not surprised to hear about dull factory edges.

Yikes, then I guess I should be happy that dull blades are the only problem it has.  I'll avoid that company in the future!

Unbearable!     :D

Nix, your cobbler looked amazing! And, can only imagine how tasty it was, not really very hard if Mrs Nix cleaned her serving complete.

Tonight enjoying dinner with my daughter’s family, every Tuesday!
After dinner my granddaughter whipped up one of her deserts.  I saw peaches being pealed and sliced, cake batter and small ceramic dishes filled with layers.

Next thing I am aware is my younger granddaughter brings me a warm dish.

Switched it up and went with a Boker Copperhead tpday. Very nice carry, and came in handy during a rope project.

I'm feeling pretty strong going into the fruit cobbler/crisp/crumble event.
Justifiably so. That looks damn good!

What my Dad referred to as his "Sunday go to Meeting" knife...
:like:

Two fer Tuesday, Old Timers that is   :tu:
And the 8OT is a Walden, no less! :tu: I have a Walden 108OT, but it's much more worn than that 8OT.

The factory edge on the blades isn't very sharp.  This is the first time I'll have to sharpen a brand new knife.
The Bear & Son I own (it won't be seen in this challenge, because Torx) was sharpened to a hair-splitting edge from the factory. I guess they lack consistency? :dunno:

Day 26

I swear Steve and I did not work this out beforehand! I'm awlso showing two Old Timer patterns today. The first is the 61OT, and the second is the 108OT. One of my 61OTs is packaged and dang close to mint, so I don't carry it. The other, while not city-compliant, just begs to be carried with its very assertive snap. Though the 108OT is a little rough, it's a good option when circumstances mandate a smaller carry.

I have been finding excellent examples of  traditional models that I would carry! And models I never knew and fortunately came across at a flea market in Florida.

David, Alan K, Steve and others added fuel to the fire and created that BURNING DESIRE to buy.

I have seen many knives I'd like to buy in this challenge but I've just spent $1578.25 on car repairs, so that's it for my knife buying, probably for the rest of the year.

Last of my "new" Sheffield knives, and the one I've owned the longest; A. Wright Sheepsfoot.  This one has a backspring that has aspirations of being a beartrap.  Not for the faint of heart, nor the soft of fingernail.  :D

So, just to be clear… Is the yellow Barlow really, really big or the RR just really tiny?  ???
I would say the yellow Ka-Barlow is average in size, but the RR is just really tiny(no bigger than my pinky nail)  :D

A lovely, SHARP looking knife.

I have a few with back-springs that are so tight,   [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]  , this happened one night of inspection.

I have discovered, that Buck consistently install a functional back spring in their slip joints as well as their larger folders. Case back-springs are hit and miss, ranging from nail rippers to JUST RIGHT!!!

A good back-spring is almost as important as the blade steel and more so than scale beauty.
