Well I have all 3 grits on the DMT card sharpeners now and I can get a dull blade pretty sharp in just a few minutes
I usually use whatever is available. The top of my car window. Bottom of a ceramic cup or dish. Back of my belt. I strop my knives on my hand or jeans all day long whenever used, so actual sharpening is always kept to a minimum.
Still, I may get a DC3/DC4 some day, for I never heard anything bad about them.
1 of those are on my list to get as well
Is it one of those "drag knife through V" type things?
I carry one of these.http://www.knivesplus.com/eze-lap-sharpener-ez-201.html
So far it is holding up well.I bought it a year and a half ago.I also need to get some different grits, fine works well but whenI get a really dull knife it would be a lot faster to get an edge witha medium grit.
I've got one of these little Gerber pocket ceramic things.... think it needs cleaning though, do you chaps think just doing the hot water and soap thing will work?(Image removed from quote.)

I think those things are horrid myself, but I expect soupy water will do the trick yes.

(Image removed from quote.)I picked one of these up to try because it was cheap .... I didn't throw it away, I was feeling evil so sold it for 20p at a car boot sale
