New To Me Spirit - Thanks Ben
on: January 30, 2009, 10:16:43 PM
Received this from Ben the other day, I'd been after a Spirit for quite a long time  :)
I already like it a great deal for reasons such as the small pocketable size, build quality and tool selection. There isn't much I can add over and above the masses of praise that have already been heaped upon this little gem in previous posts by many. However first impressions of usability are very, very favourable. The soft wire cutters chomp braided wire, while a coat hanger was easy meat for the hard wire cutters. The plier pivot play is there just as in one of my Swisstools, but I ain't bothered by this. The serrated knife will take some getting used to, but it made short work of some packaging at work today, so it ROCKS  :D  No complaints about the various drivers either, they worked well on a variety of test screws, some of which were stubborn to turn. These drivers are probably better than those on my two Swisstools as well. Scissors are just as many have described them, but a great sturdy addition to the selection. Lastly I reckon the file is a killer, better than the ST's, again.
That's it, the Spirit is a very good MT which does'nt give much away to it's larger brother and mine will get the  hard use it's made for.

PS. In order to keep the Spirit's blade in the condition it deserves, I have a Sharpmaker coming. GR O OO O AN  MORE EXPENSE!

I love mine all to pieces , best multi I own ! Enjoy in good health , I agree with your observations . The "butterknife " will grow on you , and it isn't too much of an imbuggerance if you also carry a SAK .

I have seen Swisstools and Spirits that have rusted too  :pok: .  Any tools will rust if it is not looked after.
