Came home to a treat in the mailbox… I’ve got a nice surprise to carry with my Wave to round out the available tools.

Day 5

I just loosened the screw that made my blade too tight, and now it's almost perfect.  Right now it just slightly tighter than I like, but it's about the same tightness as all of my new Leathermans... and all of those loosen up perfectly after a little use.  I didn't add fresh loctite - I'm hoping the old stuff holds again after the metal cools.

Question - Does anyone know of small and low-profile 1/4" ratchet or wrench?  The ones I have are small, but the length of the bit makes handling 2 ratchets and a multitool at the same time difficult.  It would be much easier if one would sit flush with the multitool so I could hold both in one hand.

Those are a couple of great ratchets. I love my Klein ratchet. I used it several times today.

I use a couple of Klein 14-in1 precision screwdrivers for working on multitools:

The Wave is the ultimate dad MT...
I don't have kids, so I'll take your word for it. But my Wave has done pretty well for itself thus far.

Great photos and uses, as usual! :tu:

Day 5

Early in the morning of day five, the cats' laser pointer got some fresh batteries. The fine slotted screwdriver just worked; the fine Phillips didn't work at all. I may need to see about a bit kit with a #0 Phillips.

Day 6 of 30

New arrival yesterday: used electrician. Needs a good cleaning and has some wear on the exterior, but the blades are in great shape. Looks like it was carried in a pocket but rarely used.

The electrician makes a great pair for the wave. The awl and wire scraper were 2 implements on the spirit that I wish were on the Wave. It’s been a while since I’ve needed that blade so we’ll see if it will get use this month in combo with the wave.

I now know what’s happening when I quoted myself - I tried to modify the post to add a bit of text. You can see the difference between the two. Selecting modify somehow made it quote. Maybe a bug or maybe my sausage fingers pushing the wrong button posting on a phone!

Day 6

Used the Wave to tighten a door handle. Although I didn't need my ratchet driver for this, I do wish they made them in black oxide as well. ::)

This is one of the reason I got the 711L ratchet. It’s difficult to get a good angle even with a standard screwdriver the door knobs are so wide. I find myself tightening a screw on at least one door handle every month or so.
