 Mine is 80-06/09-06.

Great Day 2 photos, y'awl! :tu:

Day 2

I spent much of the day without Wi-Fi. No use to speak of, but I was prepared in the event that the Wi-Fi didn't come back to life.

Great pictures and uses.
Poncho beat me,,, the Orange does chip, and if memory serves me correctly, the Orange Wave was at first a Cabela’s exclusive.

Mine, assisting my numb fingers securing a knot on a sheath with opposite side pulling done by a Rebar.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

The orange Wave is certainly pretty though! Do they have a different type of coating than the Skeletool? In terms of durability

Very cool!   :tu:    Although looking at your pic makes me wish that the Wave was also made in coyote tan.

They use dlc, ceracote and other much better wearing finishes than the paint these days (actually they had those finishes then and I don't know why they used the paint) the older painted Micras had the same problem so they really should have known better  :dunno: :D

Day 3

It has only been 2 1/2 days, and I am already annoyed with how tight the blade is on my brand new Wave.  I oiled it, but it didn't help.  I'm not sure if I should just let it wear in for a while, or if I should loosen the pivot.

How old are your other waves? I only have the 1 (purchased a year ago) and it was rather tight. Took a while to smooth out. I gather the newer ones are hit/miss from all the Reddit posts I see.  But, most of those people don’t know what they’re doing, unlike folks here in MTO so it’s hard to say.

Nice photo Rich :like:

I didn't realize how much of an impact wearing had until I got my Surge. It was almost stuck compared to my butter soft Wave. A drop of oil and me fidgeting/unfolding constantly for half an hour while watching TV did it for me

I have several Waves and Charges dating from several years ago to as early as this year - I think this is the only one that feels too tight.

Thanks  :hatsoff:

I might try doing this while I sit in tele-meetings this week.

I always tension my tools to my liking and if they get loose I tighten them

You can heat the loctite before loosening and after loosening it it will pretty well set up again :salute:

I tried opening and closing the blade while I was in tele-meetings this afternoon, and it didn't help.  :(   I guess I'm busting out the heat gun!

Great pics from awl participants  :like:

The aftermath of Ian has kept me busy the past few days (repairing electrical services), but I will break out a Wave tomorrow and join in.

Day 3

Some sharpness testing was in order. The plain edge blade is nice and sharp...but the serrated blade did not like receipt paper.

Used the Wave to open mail this morning. I've ordered some paracord end locks to make more of these. :)
