Day 4 of 30:

Nothing fancy, just adjusting the hot water heater now that the kiddo can turn on the faucet by himself to avoid scalding.

Cutting off some slices of homemade candy apples for lunch treats.

Day 4

Today's pic was going to be me adjusting the tension of my blade, but it looks like I'm not going to have time to do that today.  Instead, here's my Wave opening a package I just recived... don't judge me   🎅

Oh... and I missed the ruler
It's easy for me to miss the ruler, being that it's hidden when the Wave is closed.

Day 5 of 30: the Wave is the ultimate dad MT

Starting today moving a crib before work. Didn’t really need the 711L ratchet, but it’s a wave challenge so why not. I also tend to use 1/4 inch bits with it but thought I’d give it a try with the flat bits: they do not hold as well.

Also modified an outlet cover to allow room for a power strip cord and installed that.   [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

And, tightened the baby gate

Great pics!  I had a 711L ratchet in my Amazon shopping cart for months, but I kept balking at actually purchasing it because it looks like sideways force on the Leatherman bit holder might break it easily.  How much force are you able to apply to the ratchet when it's connected to a bit holder?

The most torque I’ve applied the 711L was installing an outlet box. I used the wave as a drill as then to drive the screw. The bit driver and the pliers flexed when I used the leatherman ratchet on the screw as it was nearly all the way in, but the 711L and bit driver held up without any noticeable flex. It’s definitely not built for much more torque than a stubborn wood screw.

That Wave looks amazing indeed, Poncho

Don't worry GB, I just did the same in another thread. Also, I really like your 711L. Thanks for the insight

Day 5

I just loosened the screw that made my blade too tight, and now it's almost perfect.  Right now it just slightly tighter than I like, but it's about the same tightness as all of my new Leathermans... and all of those loosen up perfectly after a little use.  I didn't add fresh loctite - I'm hoping the old stuff holds again after the metal cools.

Question - Does anyone know of small and low-profile 1/4" ratchet or wrench?  The ones I have are small, but the length of the bit makes handling 2 ratchets and a multitool at the same time difficult.  It would be much easier if one would sit flush with the multitool so I could hold both in one hand.

Yeah trying to hold the wave and ratchets all in the hand is tricky. I ended up putting mine in a benchtop vise to hold.
