Greetings December.
Feeling a bit down today.  Had to drop off my sidekick at her mom's this afternoon and she was crying when I left.  It's hard to tell a 3 year old that I'll be back on Saturday.

Brought Patch out from my EDC gear and got him ready for the month ahead.

He did well in last year's challenge and couldn't wait to join in.

Day 1, going with classic executive with walnut scales and black  toothpick and tweezers. About to use my peeler to get some vitamin C.
:like:
The walnut scales look awesome.

Coming off the MiniChamp challenge I wasn’t sure if I could hang doing another challenge- however this one just looks like it’s going to be so much fun. Is is too late to join? Or have i hummed and hawed too long?  :ahhh
Totally understand if that’s the case. I’ve got a black executive and a director (not sure if those are allowed)

Join!   :tu:

Day 1 (continued):

I used the orange peeler on the FIRST DAY of the challenge!  :woohoo:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

It works great for opening packages and keeps the dreaded tape gunk off the two blades.

I'm pretty sure I can claim victory in this challenge now...  :drink:  :mn:  :2tu:

Day 1

It's so good to be back to being able to use the Exec after a month with the PST  :bnghd:. Getting my requisite challenge apple pic out of the way early (and rather unsafely, clearly my brain was shutting down from hunger). The Executive is just long enough to slice a good sized apple.

General's Quote of The Day: If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane SAK the next day, it's an outstanding landing.

DAY 01

Glad to be a part of this challenge! I’ve not carried the Executive much so this is going to be a fun one for sure. My main contender will be this black Executive but I may end up picking up another one :ahhh during this challenge

Today I used the orange peeler flat head screwdriver tip to tighten the tiny screw on my sunglasses.
It worked so perfectly for this task   :salute:

Looks awlmost too nice to use!

Day 1

Packages arrived today. The large blade was used to open them and dispatch the dreaded air pillow packing material.

Day 2

Executive helped cutting off the tag for a new jackect from Helikon Tex.  The M65 from Helikon Tex is a modernized version of the original, and it is perfect for mild winter.

Day 2: Hygiene duty with the file, aggressive as ever  :tu:.  Nix, you're not alone.  I had to use the Spirit pliers to get a tire valve cap off.  Other than that, I used the small blade to open a pack of crackers.

Early start for the day, today.
After looking at the lanyards on my executives I felt that Patch needed something more appropriate for the season, so Patch helped with cutting the paracord.

Normally I'd simply use red or black to match or contrast the Vic but green seemed to be a good fit.

DAY 02

Had something arrive today that I have been waiting for. Some fun colors and lil lanyards for some Christmas SAK's I'm cooking up.

That lil blade is a sharp one and did dandy.

Just a quick note on my daily reports - you should assume that I used the toothpick for its intended purpose every day. I do that virtually every single day because I had a couple of teeth removed as a kid so my upper molars are a lot further apart than most people's. But it gets kinda repetitive to say that every day and it's not the sort of thing anyone wants to see pictures of!

But don't worry, I wash my Vic toothpicks very frequently!

Day 2:
Peeled an orange today. Can’t say I notice an advantage over a regular knife blade. Oh well. I guess you ain’t much of an executive if you use the same blade for more than one purpose.

Day 02. Looking good there everyone - we're off to a fine start to the Challenge. Self censoring toothpick use is a sign we've got the little details working well

I opened a new pack of tests and later a sack of sunflower seeds for the little birds in the garden. They're properly walloping into them and they must know it's getting cold and going to get colder. Avian flu is an issue here now and that's not good news for my feathered friends

Day 2:

I used the scissors to open some new long johns but… I think we’re supposed to call them a “base layer” now for some reason. Probably the same reason all the outdoor companies call them a “pant” now instead of pants.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Anyway, I can confirm that the 74mm scissors are just as good as their 91mm and 58mm counterparts!

Couldn't get a pic because I was driving but Mrs R used the toothpick to open up a vent hole in a coffee cup for me.  Not as easy as an awl but it works  :ahhh

After carrying and using the Minichamp for a month, I wonder why I put this knife away after these challenges.  It's a great EDC!  It packs just what you need.

Day 2
I enjoyed the slightly warmer day and did some coffee and oatmeal over the twig stove.

The blade worked beautifully for shave some fatwood but not so much for splitting dried hardwood.  For that the Mora came out.  And seeing that the Mora was already out, I used the fire steel to start the fire.
