The Return of Multi-Moe!
on:
October 18, 2022, 02:03:23 PM
It's time to bring Team Multi-Moe back for 2022!
Some History for you- Years ago one of our own founded Team Multi-Moe (Mat, where are you buddy? We miss you!) to help raise awareness and fund raise for the Movember Organization, a group dedicated to tackling manly issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, depression and other general men's health issues.
Given how the majority of members here are men, it makes sense that we get involved- after all, if we don't look after ourselves, who else will?
Even though Mat isn't here, I want to bring back Team Multi-Moe for the 2022 Movember season, and I am hoping I can count on everyone here to help out!
You can get involved in any number of ways- pick and choose what options work for you:
- Donations for
Team Multi-Moe
are always welcome
- Join
Team Multi-Moe
and help raise some funds for the team
- Share the
Team Multi-Moe
info everywhere you can to help us reach our goal!
- Just grow a moustache and help spread awareness of serious issues
- Participate in the events (details to follow!)
Link to Team Multi-Moe -
https://movember.com/t/multi-moe?mc=1
All this and my daily photo updates where you will get to laugh at my inability to grow a moustache!
Join
Team Multi-Moe
today- the man you help could be you!

I see they still have issues with multinational teams... can't join team Multi-moe
Also I can't seem to login with my original account from 2010 (not had an email from them since 2020) so now I have 0 history, not that I have been active for most of the years since I signed up originally.
Anywho, for obvious reasons of already having a goatee+mustache I will probably do the move for movember thing... should be easy as my average is currently about 7k steps a day as is, 60km = 78740 steps apparently, which is about 2624 per day...
My yet to be filled in new profile:

And we are off!
You don't have to donate but it would be super helpful if you shared this stuff, even if it isn't mine! Chances are someone you know is also doing it, and the Movember Foundation can use all the help it can get!
You never know, the man you help may someday be you!

As previously mentioned, doing the move option, 6km today already... 60 should be cake provided we don't get this afternoon's downpours all month long... Or at least post work.

As this is a tool page I figure I'll show the tool I'll be using most over the next 28 days!
Ordinarily I am not much of a regular shaver type, disliking both the act of shaving and being unshaved, but this SweetLF electric razor has treated me well for a few years now.
For the sake of Movember 2022, I will make the sacrifice and put a few miles on it! Let me know what razors you prefer on our forum and be sure to Like and Share for the most support a Bro can give!

Unfortunately I can't connect Samsung Health to my account, so I'm stuck inputting it manually. Worse. It only seems to accept whole numbers or I'd be a couple of kilometers ahead of where I am now. Not a big deal as I am still ahead of where I need to be.

I just updated my physical challenge for the last couple of days. I would have also included a screenshot, but as I barely hit 3kms each day I don't really feel like people need to see proof of that!
I'm still ahead of the game though- I'm at 22kms now, over a third of the way to the goal, with more than two third of the month left.
And, we are a bit short of the goal, so if anyone has any interest in helping out, we could use some donations, some shares... anything helps!

Even though tick season is running out in my area, this Lee Valley Tools version of the Swiza Tick Tool is still handy.
In addition to the knife blade, awl, bottle opener and corkscrew the Tick Tool features a wedge style tick remover and a small magnifying glass to spot the little buggers.

This is a no name screwdriver tool but it is one of my absolute favorites! With 8 small screwdrivers that can be used independently or in the handle that carries them it's an ideal tool for replacing components on my Roombas!
And, since this is Instagram I need to fulfill my cat photo quota, even if she is a gray shedding head module!

We went for a walk last night before a storm set in and got a photo. I love my neighborhood.
My feeble attempt at a moustache is starting to show, but I'll say it really encourages me to wear my mask still!

It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that I am a fan of small ratchets. Or big ratchets. Or really any ratchets!
This Mini Ratchet from Klein Tools is definitely one of my favorites. It has a reversing lever, unlike many mini ratchets that need to be flipped over, and a finger ring for easy movement.

The Smart Clip Ultra from Swiss*Tech has a really long name for such a small tool!
Featuring spring loaded nail clippers, a nail file with screwdriver tip, knife blade, scissors and an LED light, the Smart Clip Ultra is a surprisingly handy little doodad that takes up next to no space.

I have been wanting a shears based, EDC oriented multitool for years, but the few that come out seem to miss the mark. This Roxon Knife/Scissors (yes, that's the name) comes closer than most other to what I actually want, but...
It's not much bigger than a typical tactical style knife, features a one handed opening, liner locking fancy tactical type blade, a pocket clip and a set of nice folding shears, but where are the other functions? At least give me a bit driver and bottle opener!

When I hit my 60km goal early on I thought about doubling it, but as I was a bit busy at work I didn't want to push it- especially since I kind of hurt myself a bit making that 60kms.
I stopped paying attention to my mileage, but in a recent discussion with Whoey I decided to add up how far I have walked since then. Here is what I have:
November 11- 6.93km
12- 2.4km
13- 3.36km
14- 5.41km
15 3.57km
16- 3.48km
17- 6.22km
18- 6.72km
19- 7.42km
20- 4.33km
21- 8.20km
22- 6.24km
For those keeping track, that's 127.48kms as of the end of day on the 21st, which means I have more than doubled the goal!
What do we think? Should I push for tripling the original goal and try to hit 180kms?
