The badge says, "aka multi-layered, knife-based pocket tool." I say two layers and a knife would qualify. I think I got mine carrying a Leatherman T4, which I'd argue is less SAK-like than a scout.
I concur.  Anything with two layers + and a knife.

When I did my first SAK-A-Like challenge, this was one of my participants, which I picked up from the GAW Box.

In my humble opinion, any of the ones below qualify as well.

Good news. There was a Craftsman TL-29 in the box. Blade. Wire stripper. Screwdriver. Two layers. That will be laid aside as pick number two for me. Looks like a Camillus? Best wishes. G

Good to see the box made it safe and sound. And that Buck is a good pick! :tu: I got the 507 error yesterday and the day before, but all seems normal now. And I've been getting some interesting ads lately. Maybe there should be a "what ads have you received lately" thread?

I still haven't looked at everything in the box.  I mowed and weedwacked a bunch today.  Might have one more dry day, then maybe more rain.  Between yestiddy and today, I got most of the mowing done.  The Echo is getting hard to crank.  I stuck in a new plug and it fired right off.  Now it is back to hard cranking again.
I have been spending time cleaning up the knives in the box.  Some are very dirty.  Stuff caked on the blades, etc.  It takes a little while, but it is nice to take a break from lawn work.  I fed the raccoons some chicken bones the last two nights.  They waddle up to the styrofoam plate that I feed them from and cautiously take something.  Then they pull it off to one side and eat as fast as they can.  Never can tell when something else is going to come along and interrupt supper.  They lick the plate finally until it is clean as a whistle.  You know, if a person had a crusty cooking casserole dish or skillet it would be a simple thing to leave it out at night.  The night crew would clean it up for you.  Think of the time you could save.  Best wishes.  G

There's a product called Mechanic in a Bottle that seems to take care of hard starting and other problems.  You pour some in your fuel tank and wait a few hours before trying to start.  For long term storage you pull the spark plug and pour some down the hole.

There's one of the night clean-up crew in the act.  This one didn't have to leave with trembly lips and a tear in his wee eye.  There was a fair amount of meat still on those bones.
I think I will yank the spark plug from the Echo and see what it looks like.  This old weedwacker gets much better fuel consumption that ever before.  When I bought it years ago, I would get tired from using it about the same time that the tank ran dry.  Lately by the time I get tired of using the thing, there is still plenty of gas left in the tank.  Remarkable.
Best wishes.  G

I think this was the first thing, or at least one of the first, that I saw when I got the box for my initial turn.  It is still in there, so I figured it was about time to put it on my belt pack.  This little cutie has been back and forth across the US dozens of times with no takers.  Why put it back in?  It is a smallish fixed blade made by Gear Aid.  The blade is maybe two and a half inches.  Everyone who ever had the box has seen it.  At least within the last couple of years.  Somewhere in its journey it has picked up a really nice paracord belt loop made by a skillful member.  The pen was for scale and didn't come from the box.  Just so you know.
I did a test pack of attempting to get everything back in the box I received it in.  Fail.  I ripped a corner of the box.  I need another roll of packing tape to assemble the new box I have on hand.  The old one won't make another trip.  Too heavy and too full of stuff.
I never did open every parcel within the contents.  Whenever someone finally asks for the box, I will start assembling the new box and taping it up.  Best wishes.  G

That fixie, went into the box with the paracord dangler.

The blade came to me with another fix blade via the
Auction site.

It is a nice utility knife, just not my style.  Already had a truck knife, a tool box knife, and (iirc), the tanto blade  would excellent cutting jerky, fighting gators, wild jackalopes or rabid raccoons.

I am so relieved it will receive some attention!😉

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

That shows how much attention I paid to it before.  That is a nice bit of paracord work at any rate.  I saw where the company that markets these things have several similar models.  Different blade shapes and colors.  I expect it will be more easily accessed than the folder that always stays in my belt pouch.
I got error messages all day long.  By the way, that Gear Aid is my third choice.  Some post all the choices at one time.  I am drawing it out.  Best wishes.  G

I remember that knife.  I was very close to keeping it myself. I found it comfortable enough in hand I just couldn't see myself carrying it.

I gave some thought to keeping that one. The paracord loop attached to the sheath was a wise addition. Nice to see it found a home! :tu:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]     When I get bored, I have been taking out a few of the knives and cleaning them up.  Several have stuff caked on them, rusty spots, or other unidentified types of mung, schmutz, or scum.
I found an EcoLine Victorinox Spartan.  Printed cross was worn off what looks like nylon scales.  Both blades and the corkscrew are bent.  No tool would open without being forced.  By forced I mean pull open a little then put the partially opened tool against a wooden stool and bearing down on it until it came open.  Full of hard black something.  It got the hot Dawn bath.  Didn't help much.  WD-40 came next.  That did help some.  Finally I dug out the innards with toothpicks and a little screwdriver.  I kept wiggling the blades back and forth and finally they all freed up.  The cap lifter/ can opener layer is still lazy, but older two layer SAKs often are anyway.  I put so much work in on this thing that I decided to keep it.  I tried to take the scales off, but they didn't like the idea.  They might be glued on.
Anyway I like Spartans and didn't have an EcoLine.  So this is my number 4 pick.  Best wishes.  G

Our friend Alan K has stated the rules of the game several times.  You might want to look up some of the old posts on this thread and see if it is something you would like.  I see your US flag.  You will need to have a US address that can receive mail.
Briefly send your mailing address to the current box recipient by PM
You must NOT post a photo of what is in the box or say what is in there.
You can take some things if you want.
Put something back if you want.
Agree to send the box to the next recipient who will contact you by PM
We don't ship the box to someone we don't know.  There have been requests by people for the box on their first post.
Box must be posted by USPS Priority Mail.  Medium sized box.  Cost of mailing is currently $19.15.  Box and labels are available free at post office.
When you do keep something, you MUST post a photo of what you kept along with comments if you wish.
I probably forgot something, but that is about it.  Best wishes.  G

To receive the box a member in good standing only has to add their name to the list (copy and paste) and PM their address to the person ahead of them on the list so they can send you the box when they are done with it.  Keep anything you want out of the box.  Add anything you want to the box and then send the box to the next person on the list when you're done with it. That's it.  You might have to hold the box for some time before the next person comes along who wants the box but hopefully not too long.

It seems to come and go in spurts. We get 3 or 4 all back to back, and then it sits for a couple months. A year or two ago, I took it every time it stopped, but it got a little silly getting it back with only a couple items difference.

Same experience here, BP.  I started assembling a new box today.  Need some more tape.  I had a couple of objectives with taking it this time.
1)  Get the box moving again.
2)  Look for something to use for the SAK-alike challenge and the Keychain challenge.
It remains to be seen if the box will move anytime soon.  Someone has expressed interest, but so far hasn't sent me an address to ship to.  I did find a decent TL-29 to use for the SAK-alike.  Assuming it doesn't get disqualified.  I didn't find a Keychain tool.  I have something that will work here already.  Using it would be a last resort.
I remember buying a couple of full-sized Craftsman stock knives years ago.  One had whitish handles with a Craftsman 'gear' shield.  The other had black handles that were saw-cut looking.  Both great knives.  I showed them to dear old Dad.  He said, "I don't like them."  Can't please everyone.
Best wishes.  G

I've been keeping track of the number of members between when I last had the box and the next time I signed up for it.  I've rationalized that ideally you'd want at least 6 members or more to go after you, before you request the box again, so as to add variety to the box.  Those are just the thoughts of my rambling mind.  :D

Well, I had enough tape to seal the box up.  Getting things positioned was like a puzzle.  I had to retry a couple of times.  I kept one more.  An abused old Wenger.  This was another one that the tools wouldn't open.  Or shut.  I did get it squared aways and to thank me I got bit on my left hand pinkie with the sharp little Wenger awl.  The tools actually cleaned up pretty well.  This is a Commander.  Two layer like a Sportsman Vic.  Nail file instead of a small blade.  No scale tools.  Everyone should know I have a soft spot for Wenger.  Best wishes.  G

The Wenger gets the ol' :2tu: from me! And I don't recall ever having seen a Craftsman folder with a gear shield. I know pre-Taylor Schrade cranked out a bunch of contract knives for Sears.
