Rechargeable batteries whether NiMH or Lithium.  At least they won't leak acid on everything.  I had to clean out a couple of TV remotes and throw away a couple of mini-mag lights that I couldn't get the batteries out of because they were so badly corroded.  I didn't realize that it was a trend, however, until I found so many of the batteries corroded while in storage.  I keep the batteries in a tackle box in a closet in my air conditioned house.  There's no reason for them going bad so quickly.

Given how little hand castration is happening these days, I really with someone would take the leap to flex that slot a little more with something different (and possibly serrated).
:iagree: Leatherman has you covered there, but a more pocket-friendly option with both plain and serrated blades would be nice.

Picture shows the 10 corroded batteries I discovered in my battery storage box.
That's after only two years?

Looks like a fun little challenge.
I ran into a little challenge fatigue after two consecutive months, but now I fully recharged and curious again.
Latching on just for funz, ran the number of participants through a random number generator and got an 8. So I‘ll let GearedFwd’s hand dictate my tool selection for the rest of the month.
I won’t share pics or let my unauthorized side gig interfere with the main event in any way.
Play your cards wisely!

Ouhh.. traditional you say. Not the strong point of my collection. I may be able to dig out the kind of traditional-ish inspired BM proper, if I do a deep dive in my workshop. There may be others, but I doubt it.
Would the Proper even qualify in the main game? Maybe this was a bit premature after all

Day 5

I'll be heading up to Maine for a week for grad school tomorrow, which means I'll be away from my collection when we do the draw for week 2 and the new deal for week 3. I put together a little bag with 2 of each type of tool. That'll probably cover me. If not, I guess the guys at Casco Bay Cutlery will be getting even more of my money.

Trad Folder:
Stanley (carried this week)
Tl-29 (might as well at least have a screw driver if I get a 2 trad hand)

SAK
Executive (my favorite keychain carry)
Cybertool L (slightly more versatile than the Swisschamp for urban environments)

Fixie
Mora Eldris
KABAR (the largest and smallest fixies I own)

Leatherman
PST (easy to pocket)
ST300 (the most versatile tool I own)

Add in a mini first aid kit, Falkniven pocket stone, zippo, and a crank radio/flashlight, and I should be overprepared for anything that might come up.

And a bunch of sporks.

My luck, I'll get stuck with the stockman the whole time anyway. :P

As long as it's a folder with just a blade, I believe it would.

Just felt like taking a glamour shot

Day 6

Used the pliers to skin an Amazon White. Credit for this idea goes to Rich_SD.

Other than another visit at the doctor nothing really happened today.
Surprise, after fever week comes Otitis media week.
Yay. More sick at home days next week.

Deluxe Tinker did minor food stuff (oranges) and helped opening meds.

Day 6

Wife: There's just the end of the bread left.

Me: Great, put a little butter on it and toss it in with my lunch. I'll have it as a snack on my break.

"Just the end" was probably about two and a half pieces thick, and this is a crusty homemade sourdough loaf.

SERRATED SHEEPSFOOT to the rescue! I could've gotten through it with the other blades, but not nearly as easily (or safely). Seriously considering tossing this thing in my desk at work at the end of the challenge, it's been way handier than I expected.

Is the swap for tools to carry on day 7, or do we swap after we're done 7? Either way, I'll keep my ace and swap the other 4.
