Day 14.

The last day with a beloved SAK.
Having bad luck with my second draw I am down to a fixed blade starting tomorrow.
What a challenge.
While having around 20 fixed knifes, I rarely carry them and if I do,
not for a long time and not alone.

Today I was on a walk with the familiy between two rain showers.

Gathered japanese knotweed for trying to craft flutes.

Day 14
Today I used the tweezers from the CT-41 to remove a splinter from my foot.  The T&T are probably what I use most in a SAK and I'm surely going to miss them during week 3.

Day 14

Goodbye to the Gummy Bear round and goodbye to Maine. Here's this week's carry posing with my souvenirs: An Opinel 6 and a copy of Lonesome Dove from a book swap. Probably carrying a Mora Eldris starting tomorrow. Debating clipping my Gerber Shard or something on to my keys to help supplement. Or is that against the spirit of the challenge?

Reflection after round 1:

The stockman did pretty well. There were one or two times that I missed the extra tools on an SAK, but nothing critical. The serrated sheepsfoot is a great blade, and I wish more knives would do serrations on one of the secondary blades.

The KA-BAR didn't see any use. I was hoping we'd get around to a bon fire (we did one during the summer program) and I could use it to process some wood, but we wound up using the indoor gas fireplace instead. Not much call for sheath knife while working on literature.

The TL-29 was a joy to carry. The screwdriver saw one or two uses (as long pokey non-blades on knives always do) and the thick wood handle feels great in hand. I don't know that I'll collect them by the dozens, but I do think I'd like to pick up 2 or 3 more.

Day 14

One last task for the half hawk: cutting some paracord so I can be ready for tomorrow's photo(s).

Day 14 (Last day of the Gummy Bear Round):

Both SAK Compact and LM Juice S2 were a pleasure to carry and use. Either one of these tools would be a good 30-day challenge tool, so carrying both was a real treat.

New set of tools tomorrow..........  ;)

Thanks Comis, I was hoping for some hearts... but a SAK good too  :tu:

Hmmm.... I'm debating between an Orig. Traveller (Climber without keyring), Yeoman or Farmer

Please remind me, I can exchange up to 4 cards next time?
Certainly!

@ Comis --

Not a bad start!

Great shots! :like:

Thanks Comis for the good hand.  I'm still looking for a heart though.  I don't think I've gone this long without a pliers based tool in at least a decade.
Chance to remedy that on Day 21!

Carrying the Spirit MX is easy with a clip, and I briefly used it today to cut off clothing tags.

Day 15:
After some head scratching and browsing coming weeks calender I’ve made my choice:

I believe ER T-Razor will be stylish and nice to carry, should sort out any tasks ahead with ease and will give me a chance to refresh my rasolino handling ad well

Day 15

I've chosen my late 70s Traveller (Climber without keyring) for the time until I get the winning hand   :D

My laptop bag fluffed up a bit after a spin in the washing machine. The scissors helped removing some...

Day 15.

Second half, only a fixed for me.
Going with the Caström Safari, a slightly larger option than the Bark River PSK.
Having bad weather (storm with lots of rain) I was at home most of the day.
Wearing sweatpants and not liking fixed that much there were moments were I didnt even carry this only knife.  :dunno:

Hard week to go for me.

Day 15
Here at the beginning of week 3 I've drawn a fixed blade knife and a trad / folder, so I decided to carry the Case Stockman I got from Sos and a Schrade 152OT that I picked up recently.  I considered carrying my Izula II but I figured we'll be seeing plenty of the Izula II from Farmer and I really hope he enjoys it.

100% correct! So far, it's been a superb fixie. The only knock I have is that it's difficult to remove from the sheath (especially one-handed). But it is secure.

Day 15

The fixie was a no-brainer...just had to add paracord.

I figured the SAK would require some consideration...until I remembered that ESEE includes Hikers in some of their survival kits. So the Hiker is somewhat of a natural teammate for the Izula II.
