March Rebar challenge

A while ago, I asked about starting a new challenge. My initial plan was to run it in December. But you know what they say about the best-laid plans of mice and men...the challenge has been pushed back to March (just in case anyone is participating in other challenges running before then).

The usual challenge rules apply:

  • Carry a Leatherman Rebar for 30 days (1 March 2023-30 March 2023)
  • Use your Rebar for every task it's suited for
  • Post a photo of it every day that the challenge is running
  • If you use another tool, say why you needed that particular tool over the Rebar (and preferably post a photo of it with the Rebar)
  • Have fun!

One to four layers of SAK is (usually) best for me.
Merit Badges Participants shall carry and use one Soldier knife, the model of their choosing, for the duration of the 90 days and post a picture each day. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Farmer X SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread with a photo of a modded knife or multitool with your EDC Start a new thread and post a photo of a Camper SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Must start a thread showing a photo of at least three BO tools Using EDC items randomly selected with a poker hand, post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for 4 weeks (or 30 consecutive days) Start a new thread and post a photo of an Executive or Director for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a MiniChamp SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Buck 112 Ranger for thirty (30) consecutive days. Must update or add a page on SAKWiki Start a new thread with photos of your Buck knives in use Start a new thread and post a photo of a flashlight as part of your EDC Start a new thread and post a photo of your gear for thirty (30) consecutive days. You must carry at least one item from every category of the gear list every day. Post your pocket dump photos then challenge two more members who must post their pocket dump photos within 24hrs for you to get the badge. Participate in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a 'folding hunter' knife that isn't a Buck 110 for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the 110 knife for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Farmer X SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Using EDC items randomly selected with a poker hand, post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for 4 weeks (or 30 consecutive days) Start a new thread and post a photo of the 111mm sak for thirty (30) consecutive days. I think there’s a very good chance I’ll be up for this, but I’m less than half way through my first ever challenge at the moment and don’t have a Rebar yet.

I’m sure I’ll sign up to this one closer to the time.

I am sure I will join in on this one because it makes me.carry my Rebar more :D I daily carried a Rebar from when they came out until sometime in 2016 I believe  :think: then I started swapping tools about again :D

The postponement of the challenge allows folks more time to acquire a Rebar. I hadn't realized that benefit earlier.

I made it all the way to Day 28 of the PST Challenge before cracking and preserving a Rebar on the last day of the Leatherman Black Friday 25% off sale.

Based on how much I like the tool set on my Supertool 300 and how much I like the size of the Bond and PST, I don’t think carrying it for 30 days in March will be too much of a hardship, so I’m in!

Does the Rebar have to be stock or can it be modded?
The Rebar I usually carry has Wave type scissors added, and PE blade replaced with a PST II file, for instance.  Could I use a modded tool?

Merit Badges Post your pocket dump photos then challenge two more members who must post their pocket dump photos within 24hrs for you to get the badge. Must update or add a page on the Multitool.org Multitool Encyclopedia Start a thread with a photo of at least ten OPT's in your collection Participate in a challenge by carrying  a Leatherman Pulse or ST200 and post a photo of it  for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the Leatherman MiniTool for thirty (30) consecutive days. In this challenge,  carry one(1) Pliers-based or Non-pliers multitool that we always have prejudice against, hate or even fear and post a picture everyday for 30 days Using EDC items randomly selected with a poker hand, post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for 4 weeks (or 30 consecutive days) In the spirit of the Batman utility belt. A 30 day challenge were you have to have at least 2 things clipped to your belt (preferably more). Start a thread and post a picture of your clipped gear each day for 30 days. Participate  in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a Leatherman Skeletool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Only for the 14th year Anniversary Challenge. Post a photo of any gear for thirty (30) consecutive days during the MTo anniversary month. You have one of your pictures in the 2020 calendar or in top three of the calendar poll in any month of the given year. Participate  in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a LM Pocket Survival Tool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the LM Crunch  Multitool for fifteen (15) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the keychain for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. You have one of your pictures in the 2019 calendar or in top three of the calendar poll in any month of the given year. You have one of your pictures in the 2018 calendar or in top three of the calendar poll in any month of the given year. You have one of your pictures in the 2017 calendar or in top three of the calendar poll in any month of the given year. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Complete a 30 day challenge for carrying a different Multi tool each day of the week based on one of the daily carry threads

March cannot get here fast enough...especially considering that February tends to be the coldest month of the year for me.

One to four layers of SAK is (usually) best for me.

You must carry at least one item from every category of the gear list every day. Must start a thread with a photo of your EDC watch Start a new thread and post a photo of a traditional folder for thirty (30) consecutive days.
