It gets better!  Actually I gifted my No. 6 to my wife and now she buys them for me as gifts.  Prior to that she was only a Vic Classic user.  Now my language courses are a different matter altogether
I hope the storm isn't too bad Kottskrapa.

That's fantastic!

I think it will be alright, but we know more tomorrow

Day 17 - I did cut a few things and this thing sure is sharp! But no action pics then I did a small test. I don't think this knife will go in the edc pile but will live in my life vest when kayaking and fornsome extra safety I connected it to a floating keyring and tested it in the bathtub, it was working but no more

In all seriousness, the survival school folks say that the sound if a whistle will carry farther than the human voice can carry. So when signaling for help, a whistle is more important than it seems.

Day 17

I had realized I hadn't located my Rebar as we are edging up on March. Had a couple of places I thought it was, and I decided I'd clean up my closet and label some boxes so I wouldn't make a mess trying to look for stuff. Used the Cruical to cut tape on a few boxes of unlabelled, mostly disorganized models cars.

Day 19

Sydney going to be it’s warmest today for 2 years apparently…..32C which is not particularly warm for here but shows how smurf it’s been the last few years….hasn’t rained for at least a couple of days which makes a change

So with that in mind thought I’d post a pic that reminds me of winter, being the contrary fool I am :twak:

I never noticed how the tip of the saw pokes past the handle a little until I felt it in my pocket today.

Day 18 - after the storm is was sunshine and you could really feel that the spring is right around the corner. I will use the Opinel a day or two more and then use my OHO trekker for a few days. I have never had that as a edc either but it lives in my outdoor pants

Day 19

I was reflecting a little today on the phrase "knife based multitool." Obviously Leatherman type multitools are plyers based. There's a big ol' pair of plyers taking up half the bulk of the tool.

And I think it's fair to say the Soldier '08 is a knife based multitool. The knife is by far the largest tool, and it's the main reason (I think) that the tool moves from the traditional 90ish millimeters up to 111.

The real question is, are the 58-93mm knifes really "knife based" or is that just what we call them? I don't really think so. While the main blade is often (one of) the largest tools, it doesn't feel like it completely dictates the whole form of the tool. Other than the larger knife, the Soldier is substantially larger compared to a Farmer or Hiker, but actually drops the secondary blade (along with the scale tools.)

Not really sure where I'm going with this (aside from the fact that I don't have any particular uses today), but interesting musings.
