And should I match the knife with vintage watches as well?

All good. I’ll do the vintage watch challenge as well. Been doing that for a few years now so should be easy.

Thought I’d give this a little bump and prove it’s not too difficult or expensive to get a pre 86 SAK still

Saw these two on fleabay last week for A$40 delivered (roughly US$28) listed as a spartan and a 111mm but no more info

The 111 is a Forester that needs a very good clean and sharpen but should come up ok, but it was the incorrectly listed spartan I was interested in

It’s actually a 1976-86 Climber with fluted corkscrew, screw on scissors, no hook, no eye reamer and metal headed tweezers to boot, looks to be in great condition

Bought this Champion C recently and am not sure if its 86 or older, has fluted corkscrew, hole in the awl, screwed scissors, 90 degree stop in the bottle opener. A nice surprise was the Bijou with metal tip scissors, it was a gift to the Champion, should be 70s right? If all else fails i have my Soldat 08 from 39.

That Champion should be more than fine for this challenge as it has a screw instead of a rivet on the scissors. Not to mention I don’t see any sign of a parcel hook. The Bijou is definitely old enough and is quite neat!

Cool, i was not sure about the Champion, got a Swisschamp from the late 80s as well but that is a bit younger i guess. (it has screwed scissors and and the old style corkscrew as well.

I hate to say it peddy but on further reflection I think it’s pretty borderline, I’m sorry

It’s the reamer/awl that’s the problem, the eye wasn’t on them until 85, so that’d make it 85 at oldest. The screw on the scissors and grooved corkscrew were around until the 90’s so it’s more likely to be late 80’s I’d think

Now having said that IT COULD BE pre 86 so we can give it the benefit of the doubt for the challenge but as you have known vintage models probably best they’re used more
