:woohoo:

PST Tuesday

PST II File

Just when you think young people are not listening, they shock you.

Back after the first of the year my 12 year old grandson was asking questions about a couple LM tools I was cleaning.
One was the PST II, and he asked about the grove on the file.   Explained it is designed to sharpen fish hooks. Especially fly fishing lures as the hooks are small and many stream fish as trout are finicky about what they eat and it not 100% sure they spit it out. Very important to have that small hook sharp.   He asked a few more questions, and last was
Could sharpen larger hooks. Yep!

Last night he called me, asked if I could sharpen some hooks for him?

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Apparently he and a couple friends took advantage of the 70 plus temperatures after school and went down to the lake and try their luck. (He lives in an addition with a 20+ acre spring fed lake.).   He said he had several runs but failed to hook the bass toying with him.
He asked if he could ride his bike over with his hooks for them to be sharpened.

It is a date!   See if he brings his buddies too!  But, would not be surprised if he doesn’t, kind of competitive.
Do not share awl your secrets. 🤫

PS: I only live about a mile away a few subdivisions apart. If storms roll in, I will drive to him and allow him to sharpen his own hooks.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Yes, a strop of the plain edge and checked to see how the small ceramic fit the serrations.

The WorkSharp is a great go to for keeping blades in tip top SHARP shape.

PST Tuesday

MY PST, gets a +1 for an assist this morning.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Needed a zipper pull added to a new arrival, black was selected, my fingers could thread it through the ring, but not make the loop to secure.   Change in weather is suspect causing issue with feel and dexterity today.

Signs of getting old is wearing thin. Good days and bad…
