I'm in a hurry to post (again)...a great Day 17, y'awl! :tu:

Day 17

Switching to the blue Camper today, and it saw no use.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

I love the blue, I need more of those in my collection.

Day 18:

Today the camper helped with lunch, among other things.   [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Day 18

Here’s a good use of the saw!

The last vitamin gummy was stuck to the bottom of the bottle. My hand wouldn’t fit and no amount of shaking or pounding would move it. So…

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Got it!

I’ve used the saw as a blunt poking device before. I’ve also used the teeth to grab something I couldn’t quite reach.

Even the wood saw has some non-traditional uses from time to time!

Full disclosure: that was a scale swap.

Yes indeed! :tu:

Day 18

Late post! :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh
No uses yesterday, but I thought Bluegrass wanted to be in the photo. He photo-bombed instead.

Nice use Marlowe! Perfect for snagging softer things from a bottle.

Day 19:

Spent the day at a birthday party so not too much to do but the Camper main blade sliced open the new dog food.

I open bags of cat food pretty regularly...breakfast pastries, not often enough.

Day 19

I thought we'd be getting a new phone today, but it turned out to be a new modem. The packaging (visible in the photo) was so robust, it probably would have survived a direct artillery hit. We'll see how well it performs.

Sounds like a great trip! :tu:

No uses for me either today.
No big deal. I've been the no use champion throughout this challenge.

Day 20

Today I cut the wrapper off a frozen pizza. The stack dwindles down!

Day 21:

Did some garden prep with my 18 month old. After we pulled out an old collard green stalk the campers main blade took off all the old leaves to make it a “broom” for him to sweep the path.   [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

After that the cap lifter came in handy for swapping out some electric outlet covers.

Great stuff for Day 21, y'awl! :tu:

Day 21

I used the corkscrew for its intended purpose...and bent the smurfer. Looks like it'll have to go off for a new one. I've switched back to the black Camper for the duration.

I think Felix Immler has a video about how to use a long nail to help straighten a bent SAK corkscrew.

Oh no! That is too bad. Like Marlowe mentioned Felix has  video about bending the corkscrew back. I had to do it recently in the Swiss champ I got. I used a piece of aluminum as a stop and some channel locks to grab and bend it. (I had not seen the video)

Day 22:

Camper came along for a hike in some new woods I found. It also cut a few packages and various things around the house. I used the can opener and another object to squeeze out a splinter, worked well. No action shots so heres one from the woods.   [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I found that video (it was actually NikGyver), and I'll be trying it out. Thanks for the tip!

Day 23:

Today was a day in the office. The can opener peeled an orange for lunch and then the main blade assisted with some salmon packages for the kids dinner.  I am loving the size of the camper, a thin 3 layer is great in the hand and pocket. I am also getting excited to carry a couple of the mods I have finished this month.

Day 23

Got in a hurry to post again, and still late. I tried, and failed, to fix the bent corkscrew with a nail, a Signal, and a Pulse. Off for repair it'll have to go.

That's too bad. But it's cool that it's blue and it's all smurfed up.  :pok:

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure the folks at Victorinox Headquarters, Corkscrew Division can fix her right up though!

Today I used the awl to poke a little valve to bleed my jet lighter before refilling, and as a tiny little poker to help untangle a jewelry chain. No action shots though.   [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]
