I like that the fingers are using the crown to focus that magic laser blast.

Day 4.

Got an Olive Wood no.8 and my P4 with me today. So far today, no action yet for either tool. The Walnut no.8 I carried yesterday did a wonderful job cubing potatoes yesterday for our beef stew dinner last night.

Enjoying the Opinel challenge.  If I had one, I would join in.  Wait a minute....  During the Leap challenge, there was a request that people not part of the challenge could MAKE a Leap and submit it.  I did it.  I think I was the only person not part of the challenge who did.  Maybe I could....?
Okay everybody else cover your eyes.  Only Barry Rowland gets to see my homemade Opinel.  Got it?  Best wishes.  G

This one might have to be a fixed blade once I'm finished.  It will go well with my homemade SwissChamp and my homemade Leap.  I was the only contestant in homemade Leap challenge in category B (non participant) and I still didn't win.  Like Charlie Brown with his Halloween goodie bag full of rocks.  Best wishes.  G

I'm sorry you didn't win in the Leap challenge, but I believe your luck is turning around.  PM your address, and I'll send you an Opinel #8.   :hatsoff:

I'll need to know:
Stainless or Carbon blade
Beechwood plain or with a color like green, red, burgundy, blue, dark brown.

Folder Bee, you are one of a kind.  Well, that's not entirely true.  I have gleaned the generosity of Sos 24 with her very kind surprise box.  Cnlson sent me a really nice Leatherman as an end of the year gift.  And I got some cookies, a pry bar, and a Victorinox Bantam from Bob at Christmas.  Nando sent some candy and some nice blue scales.   So although I did spend Christmas alone, I at least got a little love.  So, you're not completely one of a kind.  You are part of a really loving, considerate group, which is distinguished by your presence.  Many others never sent anything, but have always been kind in their dealings with me.  I never have gotten a single ugly remark or hurtful comment in my time here.  That's special in itself.  So, thank you all.
Carbone and beech would suit me to a tee.  Best wishes.  G

Day 04
Opinel coupant une pomme. (Forgive my Google translate.)

Side note, I was poking around on the site some today, and I noticed Opinel can't seem to decide what size some of their knives are. Would love if people could measure their knives and post the results here, especially the artificial handle multitool/outdoor style ones.

Broke into 70s this afternoon, added feed to feeders, mealworms for speciality bluebird feeder,’ needed new suet cakes.  I n place.   Birds singing in harmony., amazing for March this early.

Enjoyed the sounds, the warmth of the sun, and made work of my project knife,  almost ready to apply a finish,,,😉

A No8 Walnut in the tree while stock suet cakes.

Day 4 Update

After work this after noon headed out on my daily walk. I checked the weather before I headed out and clear skies with temps in the low 40s. About 45 minutes into my walk and heading back home the skies opened up with hail and freezing rain. After 15 minutes or so a strange white foreign substance began to stick to the ground.

When I got home, I hung my wet jacket and hat in the garage. Pored my self a glass of whiskey and grabbed a no.8 and went to the kitchen and cut up some pepperjack, salami, and baguette.

I forgot my Olive Wood no.8 at my desk, so this beech on stepped up for the win.
