Day 14

This is a reenactment of a couple of rhings I did/tried with the Surge yesterday:

I was able to cut 10 awg Romex cable with little trouble, though it does take 2 cuts since the cable is wider than the cutting edge of the pliers. But I could not cut the small braided steel cable. The jaws would give a little so that the cable would go between the bypass cutters instead of being cut.

This is a first gen Surge. Perhaps a second gen Surge with the replaceable cutters would do better.

Of course, if I knew my Surge I could have used the stranded wire cutter located on the backside of the plier head:

Yep  the stranded cutter underneath works much better for stranded wire :pok: :D

Day Fourteen

Saved a fifteen mile drive back to base or a long, hot wait for a fitter.

A piece of trim held on with a bit of glue and the shortest screws I’ve ever seen lifted up.

Easy “fix” for the Surge.

I love Surge scissors!  A little overkill for removing tags, but still very handy!

Day 14
I tightened a table leg today.  Why doesn't anyone tell me when things need to be done?  I didn't know this leg was loose until I saw it buckling and found the bolts had backed off more than 1/4 inch (about 7mm) each.

I was wondering the same thing about a loose exterior door hinge. Of course, I had to grab a dedicated screwdriver to fix the damn thing.

DAY 15

So I don't forget to post again,  started early.  I am repairing a stucco wall and has to remove several screw eyes used for securing a vine to the wall. Removed them and now need to fish out the plastic anchor as best I can before patching the holes. Pliers help, but I think I will have to resort to the awl too at some point.

Day Fifteen

If your bus has got a starting handle, you’re probably going to need a Surge at some point during the day.

It’s hiding down there for the picture.

That has awl the makings of a job that is not fun. Hope they came out without too much difficulty.

The Surge is now Elsa approved.  I feel much better about carrying it now that it has the proper endorsement.
