Day 18

The Surge sitting pretty as I spray paint its home black. I got this sticker online and figured it would look better if the toolbox matched it. Results tomorrow

Day 18

Happy Father's Day to all dads out there.

Used the serrated blade to open a clam shell package hiding a replacement water filter for my refrigerator. I hate clam shell packaging! >:(

I hate clamshell packaging too, so I guess that makes us unanimous.

Happy Father's Day

I used that big ole PE blade on the Surge to break down the boxes that contained the pool and accessories:

Day Nineteen

All my multitools have been tested on this chain link fence, part of a very run down tennis court about ninety seconds walk from my front door.

Obviously no problem for the Surge. In fact, the hardest part is getting the dog to stop pulling for a second while I take the photo.

The Surge and some broken glass that keeps getting washed out of the soil.  It has been there for months.

Day 19

One layer of matte black paint got me thinking. The sticker is kind of glossy. Should I spray the second layer with a more matching black instead, or just go with matte? :dunno:

If I were doing it myself, I would just leave the matte black.  If someone was doing it for me, I would say put on a second layer of glossy black

Day Twenty

To add to the discussion about carry methods, I’ve swapped mine from the nylon sheath it came with to a leather box sheath I usually use for my Supertool 300.

It’s a bit more compact, and carries comfortably on my belt at work. When I get changed at home, I put the Surge in my jeans pocket in the leather sheath.

There was a bit of use during the night, the usual stuff for me of turning fasteners with the screwdriver, cutting a few thin plastic webbing straps, but all in dim light, above my head, or both.

You have reminded me that I have a Leatherman sheath I haven't been able to conclusively identify. I really should get to posting some information on, and photos of, it.
