Day 6

Scissors. I really like Surge scissors. On par or even slightly better than Victorinox. I like the bigger thumb section and overall capacity.

:iagree:  I love the scissors on the Surge.  They're definitely better than Vic scissors for heavy work, however...

Day 6

Like the barbarian I am, I trim my nails with my multitool (usually a Micra).  For this job, the Surge's scissors are just too beefy.  For this reason, my Surge has a friend today.

Day Seven

A terrible photo, but in my defence, it was taken above my head by the light of a headtorch with my Surge in one hand and my phone in the other.

Opening panels to get at the CCTV systems.

Great pics, everyone  :tu:

Nakken's pic got me thinking... does anyone have a good list of non-Leatherman t-shank tools that fit the Surge without modification?  I found several online, but it looks like you need to cut the end of the blade in order to close the tool.

That's the thing. You can get some pretty awesome blades such as a 10 inch pruning blade, but you can't close the tool with a blade like that installed.  Many vids on You Tube if you have some time to kill.

I was going to ask exactly the same question.

I’ve got a set of Bosch blades, but they’re thinner than the Leatherman saw and file and don’t fit as securely in the adaptor.

Are there certain brands to look out for that fit well and don’t wobble?

I used the bottle opener today.   Like bottle openers on some other multitools, it's impossible to use with the handles closed  :ahhh

Alan got me watching YouTube videos today - everything is too long or too thin.

Bit worried about the type of videos you’ve been watching

I don’t mind if they don’t close, but the wobbling in use is annoying.

Anyone know if the metal saw from the 300M works? It’s not listed as being compatible with the Surge, but my guess is it fits well, but doesn’t close.

If I recall, the guy in one of the videos made a wedge of some sort so the aftermarket blades didn't wobble.

Apparently this board shows all the tools you need to buy if you don’t have a Surge.

Day 8

It's not a proper challenge without a pic of the challenge tool opening the package of a new knife or tool.

I decided to see what the hype about GEC knives was all about.  I did a lot of research on what pattern would be right for me, and I finally decided on a #6 Pemberton - the size is just about perfect for me, I like the combination of blades, and it looks very nice.  It took me awhile to find one without a super-ridiculous markup, and I finally found one with just a ridiculous markup   I really like it - it's an incredible little pocketknife 😍  That said, other than having better blade steal, it's very similar in look, feel, and "fit and finish" to my Case knives.  I'm glad I bought it, and I love having it as part of my collection, but I doubt I'll buy another.
