Day 28
When you don’t want to dirty a bowl for the last of the ice cream, cut it down to make a bowl

Day 29

Got out to the Blue Mountains and into the bush today

Missed having the clip for the Spirit as it weighed my pocket down a bit. Replacement clip will hopefully arrive this week

Day 29

Opened a Mexicoke.
The resort staying at switch contracts to Pepsi ☹️
I would luv a MexiCoke, with real sugar!

Soon time to change Butterblade Spirit, 2 days and gonna change spearpoint to butterblade version. I have tho never actually carried it, only played few times.

Only Tools Matters c
I will be going from Butterblade to spear point!

That'd be cool!  Look forward to you rejoining in a week time.  :tu: :D
Actual, truth be told I do wish I packed the SPIRIT in checked bag for this trip. Have had a need , more than once, and easily could have carried on.   [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Instead, a Micra and a Small LM style type (cs) are my options. 🙁
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Opening another packet of herbal tea today, little guy got sick after the toddler and that's gonna be a long sleepless night.

Day 29

I betrayed the Butterblade Brigade several times this morning. I submit for whatever penance my fellow knights deem appropriate.

We're closing down the camper for the season, so I climbed up on top to clear the leaves and such off. I pulled on the pants I'd worn the day before instead of crudding up a clean pair and forgot I'd taken the Spirit on the table.

Tossed a Gerber Gator up and took care of the branches I could safely reach (and waved it at everyone on their way in and out of camp. Perfect for the weekend before Halloween.) and went over to the TV antenna. We don't even have a TV in the camper, and it had caught a bunch of leaves. It was only held on by two bolts, so I yelled down to my wife to throw me one of the multi-pliers. She found the Dual Force first, so I cut the cable (don't love the "back" wirecutter, but it did alright), popped the washers, and yanked the bolts out.

I finished clearing everything, and dropped the tools back down, when I remembered I forgot to clear the slideout. The awning over it had started to rip, and it was catching a lot of leaves. We don't actually move the camper, so it doesn't do much. We'd talked it over with a few of our more experienced friends, and they all agreed it could be easily and safely removed by simply cutting it. Easy enough if I'd had a knife.

Fortunately, I've been carrying a basic trad folder most days to back up the Spirit, and I hadn't taken the Opinel 6 out last night. It looked like a pretty big job for the little knife, but I decided to give it a shot. Never should've doubted it. Two quick cuts, and I was done.

Cleaned up and headed to a party, with the Spirit in tow. Opened a beer.

Somehow missed yesterday

Day 28

Started winterizing the house. Used the blade and scissors to trim insulating foam.

Day 29

Used the file today for a rough detail on an old axe. I was curious how well it works after hearing the Alone season 3 winner used his quite a lot. Did a decent job forming an edge and I was able to chunk away at a tree. Also made for a decent splitting head.

Serrated blade x4
Scissors x10
Pliers x10
Saw x4
Spear point blade x10
Phillips x7
Pry bar x7
2mm flathead x3
Wire cutters x1
Package opener x5
Wire scraper x1
Wire stripper x1
Awl x3

No shame there BP.  There are times it's good to show another tool doing what the Spirit can't.  Part of a challenge is revealing the downsides too.

By the way, I didn't realize how large the Gerber is!!  I'll second you on the No. 6.  The 6 is a cutter!

Stella!

Day 30 already!  For whatever reason, I can't get enough of a grip on these caps to loosen them the first time around.  The pliers open just far enough to get this cap turning.

Spirit liberated the Winter Magic from packaging, they are definitely the best design Vic has to offer in recent years.

Today last job to my Spearpoint Spirit was opening bag chips, also took out my Butterblade Spirit to see how work is done.

No use day. How's everyone carrying their Spirit? I usually grab the sheath on the weekends, but during the week it sits in my back pocket with a bandana.

Cut open some mozzarella sticks for a snack and then cut out the directions, so didn’t have to keep the box.

Great job everyone on completing the first 30 days.  I had to drop out after being called away for another week after I'd already started a week late due to my travels.  I expect I might be hitting the road again before this next month is over but I have been following the thread all along when I had internet access.
