Lookin good, Pit.  Yes, I think that one is going to wear off to all white.  I can imagine what an electric knife sharpener would do to a Victorinox tiny 58mm blade.  Criminal.
Nice cat photo, Glen.  It's hard to take a bad cat picture.  Lots of good photos from awl today.  I see FB finally bought herself a Leatherman.  Poor thing.  Probably didn't have one.  If I had only known, I could have mailed her mine.   ;)
Best wishes.  G

Day 15

Another slow day for the MiniChamp. I did offer it to a colleague as a pen today, but some other colleague produced a "real" pen and the MiniChamp consequently got rejected :-(

Day 16
Tape, tape, tape, tape.  Would the world fall apart without it?  MiniChamp vs black tape.  Over the hump now with day 16.  All downhill from here.  Still dry as a bone outside here.  Can't fix that with tape.  Or a 58mm prickly thing.  The little spring that runs out about 75 yards behind my house is still running.  That means the critters can soothe their thirsty tongues.  Deer, turkeys, skunks, rackos, other assorted vermin.  Birds.  The squirrels don't seem to drink much?  Maybe they keep a bottle at home?
I tested the big (?) blade on my Mini yestiddy.  Stilll nice and sharp.  I haven't had to slice boxes or anything that really takes the edge off.  I might pass it one time over the razor hone if I get bored.  Vic 58s sharpen so easily.  I tried to sharpen a really dull 65mm Wenger Esquire one time.  Either I was having a bad day, or Wenger made that one out of an old tuna can or something.  Best wishes.  G

Day 15 of 30:
I'm still playing catch up still. I've had a big IEP and meeting I've been working on with every free minute lately. Have hardly had time to eat my lunch, much less carve up something with my MC. Fortunately, the parent showed up for the meeting, so it is over and done with for the next year.
I decided to carry the duo tomorrow. The MC got a pass or two over the Vic sharpener for a touch-up.

DAY 16  Weather today:
"High Wind Warning, northeast winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph near the coast and across barrier islands.
High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 6 to 9 feet in the surf zone. For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents."

The MC can verify 60mph gusts on the beach.   I'm going to see if I can post a gif or video.

I promise not to monopolize the soap box, again, today but here's another one of Victorinox 's painted scales.  I say painted because that's the way they seem to me.

One tool missing on a MiniChamp is a saw.  This might pair well with it, no?

That's one ugly sharpening job, Pit.  A friend was a meat cutter at a supermarket.  He saw me one day and said he had some knives for me.  He had new ones and hated to throw out the old.  Most were Kai.  I forget what the others were.  About 10 or so wrapped in a towel.  Some of them even had the wooden handles ground by the electric 'sharpener'.  A person could have done a nearer job on a bench grinder.  They were big-time ugly, but still usable.  One or two were bent.  Don't know how that happened.  I think I threw them in on a trade.  Might still have one somewhere.
The flag mini is a looker.  It has more do-jammers and flipper-flappers than my old fashioned Mini.  Nice.  Best wishes.  G

When I saw FB's post, I thought she meant to put a saw blade on a 58mm.  I was wondering how that would work.  Then I noticed the blue MiniChamp on the saw package.  Duh.  Best wishes.  G
