It's been a grand couple of weeks. Have really only carried these two knives in that time.

Also, Mother Nature wreaked havoc on my dually. 60 mph winds per the news,, we figure some sort of microburst as it only affected about 1/2 square mile. Body shop quoted $6000 to repair, but bedside is discontinued. now waiting on insurance company to make a decision on how to proceed.

Looks drivable, anyway.  Need some plastic and duct tape for a back window.  That's tough.  Let's hope the insurance company comes through for you.  Best wishes.  Gary

Thanks.

Yep,,, I've been driving it since it happened. My concern is whether or not they will total it, or approve repair. The book value on the truck is 13 to 15 thousand. With the cost of repair and the bedside being no longer available, they could decide just to total it. I would just as soon they approve the cab and glass for repair, then write a check for the bed and I will decide what to do there. Of course, if they total it I will have no choice but to buy it back from them,,,,, a replacement dually will be 60 plus thousand $$$.

I'm a little late, but I'll weigh in anyway. First, good to hear that there was no injury. Second, if the insurance company even contemplates totaling your truck, fight them tooth and nail. Surely a decent used bed wouldn't be overly difficult to find. Considering the gouge yours took, is it composite?

Update,

They took a couple of weeks, but insurance finally decided not to total my truck and is sending a nice check for repairs. So at least there is some closure.
