Well...I cannot justify the almst 400 dollar price tag for a colour change. I think Leatherman has gotten ridiculous.

Thanks. I have a weird initial impression of this tool. First, it’s no doubt very high quality. The coating on the scales is nicer than I thought. The tools and implements seem to be DLC, but I’m not positive. The sheath is pretty nice leather and has a bit card pocket. I guess I pictured champagne accents as looking different. Maybe more like the blade on the 40th anniversary tool?  Just looks like a nickel finish to me. The coating on the blade reminds me of the high quality coatings on an expensive Benchmade. Very nice. If I wasn’t a collector and wanted a user ARC, I would find the cheapest OG ARC I could find though. Get it while you can guys. Several vendors are sold out. Don’t know if they are getting more.

When you guys get yours let me know what you think of the scissors. I don’t know if  it is the coating or if LM upgraded them, but these seem to have a far superior click and bite to any that I have experienced on the Free Series.

Do the tools and implements have a better finish than Leatherman's typical black oxide?

Have you tried scratching the coating on the outside of the handles and on the internal tools?

Is the coating scratch-resistant or very easy to scratch?

  Not overly impressed with this MagnaCut Steel. Charge TTi's S30V steel holds a sharp edge way longer than this MagnaCut does.

Yeah, I ordered direct from LM, but probably around three or four hours after it went up for sale. Also, I didn’t pay for expedited shipping, so it’s not too surprising that a lot of other people got them first.
