The sun did indeed come out today.  Patch and I are really encouraging it too.  Beautiful blue skies with a cool breeze is making us think of spring which is still too far out for me but it is what it is.

Day 27:
Not much today. Just relaxed and visited with family. Took this picture earlier in the day, but I just used my Executive to fix my neices pooping puppy toy. Got one of its bones stuck and dug it out with the nail file and a pair of needle nose pliers. (Image removed from quote.)

Beautiful pic.  Don't take it personally, but if I need anything removed, I'll call my doc.

Day 28:
Spent most of the day driving back home. Since we were gone for Christmas day, Santa is coming to our house tonight. The kids decorated cookies this evening, and they can barely contain the excitement. They are actually asking if they can go to bed, but it's too early yet. I've got the Executive and Forester ready to open boxes and battery compartments tomorrow morning.

DAY 30 :nandance:

The holidays messed up my posting schedule a bit this year, but I like a challenge in December.  Honoring Chuck Yeager is icing on the cake.  No one in my family flew fighters, but he could have been covering their bombing runs.  :tu:

In the odd way of the world, some of the best things get left behind.  My final pics show the Exec and Director with 84mm and 58mm, as well as the 91mm.  The mid-size SAKs (74-84mm) feel better in the pocket than 91s, and don't get lost as easily as the 58s, but they're being phased out.    The Exec did pretty much everything I needed done, including small phillips screws.

Thanks to all who participated or checked in on us.  I loved checking the daily pics, with so many innovative and interesting photos!

Well, it's 30 days in once more with the Executive and the Chuck Yeager Memorial challenge.  Patch and I sat thinking about what he should do today.  The only idea he had was to try and enjoy the sun and the 50° temperature outside.

Really enjoyed the challenge again this year and especially all the pictures.

Haven't seen anything posted about whether we could put in for the Discontinued badge, or not, but I think I'm gonna try and see if it's allowed.

Edit...
Rules say to "START" a thread and use a discontinued SAK for 30 days, so technically I'm out, there.  Guess it'll be something to do in 2024.

Day 30

This has been an interesting challenge. The Executive is a handy little knife; it was a pleasure to carry it in the watch pocket of my jeans once I added the lanyard for easy extraction.

The scissors were by far my most-used tool during this challenge. I will say that while I found the Executive’s scissors more capable than I expected led for their size, I still prefer the leverage and cutting power of 91mm SAK scissors.

DAY 30  :salute:  :salute:

it's been a great challenge! I've really enjoyed exclusively carrying the 1970's Director this month. For just a two layer knife the toolset is quite dense and robust. i didn't find myself needing anything more which is quite surprising.

also very much appreciated the stainless steel scales. they clean up easily, make the knife very slim/sleek and easily pocketable. it amazes me that for a 50 year old knife it still has such great snap to it. :twak:

but what I've enjoyed the most was seeing everyone's uses and posts. This is a great challenge and it's always an honor to pay tribute to Mr. Chuck Yeager  :salute:

used the tip of the nail file to pry a stubborn battery out of a remote control. which worked great.  :tu:

congratulations to everyone for finishing the challenge
 :woohoo:

I've really enjoyed this little Executive. We ended the day with our annual burning of the boxes and Christmas tree. I've enjoyed the challenge and now on to the Classic challenge!

This popped up today in my news feed.
Thought I'd share it to last year's challenge.
