Last month, during the MiniChamp challenge, I found that the MiniChamp to be excellent in cutting pies.  Figured I'd start this month by using Patch to do the same with a full size pie.  My sidekick and I are about the only ones around here that like pumpkin pie.

Unfortunately, someone who shall remain nameless 8) has managed to lose his Executive .......if I do manage to find it I shall jump in at that point to add to the fun, but otherwise I'm afraid I shall have to sit this one out and watch from the sidelines :tu:

Day 2 and we already have an Exec missing in action  :ahhh

I hope you lost it like I lose things, that is to say, it's in the house but unable to be located for days/weeks/years.

My sidekick loves it almost as much as I do.
I'm guessing that the Boss Lady will be picking up another before Christmas though.  She's already ordered up some Claxton  fruitcake for me too.  The Claxton does freeze well so I can enjoy it throughout the year.

Happy Saturday all.  Scheduled the Dodge for service .   Lube, oil, filter, alignment and all that today.   Riding around with the Boss Lady while waiting on the job to be done.
Snapped a quick shot of Patch and his keyring case while she and the sidekick shop   He may be called in for nails duty later on in the day.

Day 02:

Three Executives present and accounted for, sir!

One was bought new (right before it was discontinued); the others were bought used, one of them this week. I just finished sharpening the knife blades. The scissors had a big nick in the edges that took some careful sharpening to remove.

Does maintenance count as use?

Oh no.
I lost a MiniChamp, once, still trying to find it.  Got several more thought.

Day 2:
Had the Executive along on a Christmas tree hunt today. There was no snow at home, and the area we went to had a good 6", and it was still coming down hard. We got soaked, but we all had a great time. The wife and kids just finished up decorating the tree. Now I get to bring all of the boxes back downstairs...

It was 31° which was why we got soaked. If it had been colder, we'd have been good to go. It was 42° when we got back to the house. I could go for a 70° day

DAY 3  I tried the orange peeler to cut some security tape on a package.   It worked, but the main blade worked better.

Having read some comments and just thinking to myself, I humbly suggest a change for the next challenge.  December is a busy month with a lot of tasks.  Some call for little philips screwdrivers for toys, lights, etc.  Perhaps having this challenge in Chuck's birth month, February, would make it more accessible for some.

Edit:  I didn't suggest an alternative December challenge, and maybe I should have.  A few come to mind.

* CyberTool
* December Double - carry any two
* 12 Days - Carry as many different ones as you can (31 days didn't sound right)
* 12 Layers - Carry your most-layered, or a many-layered if you don't want to backpack a Champ XXL or Wenger Giant

My Mods: 58mm Workshop, 91mm Picnicker, CyberCompact
Some Fav's: long nail file models, vintage unusual stainless
Quirk: I like the metal file more than the wood saw

I know I inquired if my hybrid model qualified, unfortunately I went long into the Spirit 60 days and somehow was dropped from the update emails. I will monitor and chime in on interesting to me posts.!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Did a quick nail filing session this afternoon.  Nothing wrong with the Executive file but I'm more accustomed to the 58mm.

. The Executive is a great model and it really makes me wish for an alternate universe where the 74mm line took off instead of the 58mm size...

I share in this vision. I have not been able to get an exec but I carry my ambassador sometimes. Everytime it makes me wish it had a 58mm style combo tool, large awl, ink pen, etc. a middle weight champ of sorts.

IDK , DavZell,  I've done this challenge for the past 2 years.  Seems like it's appropriate because it's a " memorial" challenge, but that's just my 2 cents.

Day 03:

I used the scissors to snip off a visitor wristband after a dry dock tour of the Battleship Texas.

The wood is from her deck.
