Almost half way! How's everyone doing with their MP600? I think I'm going to pocket carry mine at work, as it's a wee bit too long for the sheath I carry my work EDC in (Swisstool RS). Edit: I use the ruler on the Swisstool more than anything else on it except for the main blade. I'm interested in trying the ruler on the Gerber. The layout is slightly different so I'm curious how it will do. I'm not much of a woodworker so this is just a simulated pic. I use mine to measure brake travel and other issues on trucks.
Day 14I am enjoying carrying my mp600, it's larger than my normal carry-Rebar-but I am making it work! Fun to fidget with it, and find uses and pic opportunities! Here is a quick family picture, except I am missing a black oxide multiplier, and one or two mp600s that need put back together. DAY 15Great collection! at one point I had a center drive, a diesel, a 400 amd a 600, and a dime, I moved on most of them over the past couple years. Now all I've got in the gerber department is my old suspension that rides in my tackle box amd my 600
That's a great collection! I remember yours Noah. I still have my Center Drive and the Flatiron in addition to the 600, but the 600 is my favorite. For Day 15, I opened a new container of Ovaltine and used the 600 to grab the #@!! Pull tab.
Halfway! You guys got this! This has been a fun one to follow. There's so many interesting MP variants.
Fun photo Vicman! Day 15I was mainly a SAK collector, Victorinox and Wenger, but had dabbled in Leatherman and some of the others in the past. I was on a Leatherman PST kick back in November and was looking for some different variations of it when I ran across an ad that said Gerber Leatherman, I thought it was a Hybrid or something, (first photo). I bought it and started to research what it was and found out it's a Mr. Pinchy. That led me down the Multiplier Rabbit Hole, and then I found the MP600 (second photo), and Barry's Spur of the Moment challenge and that's where it began. I do like the MP600, but I do believe I favor the MP400 due to size and weight.
The 400 carries really well. It's a lot like the PST II size and tool kit wise. Magentus is a big fan, carrying one daily at work. Vicman, I like that picture!!
Day 15In the office early today with the MP600ST. I really like the larger Philips driver and the extended lock release tabs on this variant.
Bonus entry.Used the blade from the MP600 to open the package of a new-to-me MP400, unsure of the variation as this one has a file and not scissors.
My MP400 has the combo edge drop point blade and scissors. I don't recall ever seeing one with a Wharncliffe blade and file.
Me neither, but apparently it is a discontinued item and is called a MP450:https://www.amazon.com/Gerber-31-000674-Compact-Multitool-Paraframe/dp/B003LY43FA/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
Day 15I used the MP600 Pro-Scout file to unlock the battery compartment of my instant read thermometer and then used the knife blade to cut a couple of new batteries out of their packaging.
Thank y'awl for the compliments on my Gerber family pic! I forgot to add my Shard, which lives on my keyring, and has been pocket polished shiny silver.Great pics and uses, y'awl!
