Day 1: I picked up this trick reading the reviews on Gerber. I used the "notch" on the lanyard ( I have no idea what else to call it ) as an awl. I was kind of surprised that a lot of the military reviews didn't know what to do with the lanyard. I remember having to lash down everything so you wouldn't lose it.
Day 1Post lady just delivered my 1st MP600! Being that I got it on eBay does anyone know if that silkscreened number is supposed to be there and genuine?
Cool trick Barry!
Thank you Vicman and Barry. One more view to check for authenticity:
Here's a similar picture of mine. Looks good to me! I'm definitely at the beginning stages of my Gerber journey.Edit: Oops
Thank you both, I will rest easy now on authentication. Can't wait to use this puppy!
Bonus Day 1Checked bolt for tightness. A-OK!
That was a nice dramatic pause in the posting of the picture Barry. Nice pic!
Nice use FB!
One more Day 1So many things to find to do with pliers. Chain link tie needed tightening.
and thanks JonesE! I'd like to pick up one for work, but the needle nose version is a bit too long for my leather Super Tool sheath That might just do the trick. Thanks for the pic!
Barry, I just checked my MP600BN in a Leatherman Super Tool 300 leather box sheath. It’s still too long and won’t snap closed.
Yes, you have a genuine MP600. The laser etched number is the production lot number that Gerber uses.
I just finished 60 days with the Vic Spirit. It's a whole different animal than the MP series, but I like them both. I think of the Vic as a SAK with pliers. The MP has an old school greatness about it. It's simple and tough, kind of like an OG Super Tool. I'm looking forward to having to get creative with tool set, which I really enjoy.
Day 1Great first day pics everyone! Didn't have anything happen at work today that needed the 600, so I got a shot in the work truck today while gathering some signs from an event
Nice pic Spartan!
It's definitely bigger than the pre-MP600.
